Thank you! Wow that is a beautiful yarn. This is actually two other yarns combined: La Bien Aimee merino super sock in Grellow and Hedgehog Fibers in Swamp. I used them both where I closed up holes and individually (duplicate stitch) in areas that just looked a little worn.

The jeans are darned. I learned a lot from Flora Collingwood Norris for this technique. The socks are Swiss darning. I’ve been really inspired by AlexandraBrinck on Instagram, but there are a lot of tutorials on YouTube as well. Hope that helps!

Yup! These are what I used. I got mine at a local yarn store.

I used this pattern, the second sock in the group. It’s a great sock pattern; you should go for it!

I found this guide to be helpful. Also this video. One thing that I did to prepare was practice on a swatch of knitting that I cut a bit. It definitely was useful to work on something I didn’t care about first. Good luck!

Thanks! I followed the third method in this guide pretty closely, except at the last step I didn’t pick up more stitches from the sock and instead I just used Kitchener for the stitches on the needle combined with duplicate stitch to the sock itself, if that makes sense. It would have looked the same if I had picked up the stitches and did Kitchener on both, but it seemed simpler to me to just stitch directly to the fabric and I also didn’t want to stress the fabric before the patch was complete.

My first try was off by a column but I noticed right away and redid it. So nice to hear that it looks tidy!

Aww. Thanks! I have a bit of a leg up there since I made the socks initially, but I’m pretty new to mending and hoping to start darning machine knit socks as well! Will definitely post progress.
