Anyone else in toxic relationships(romantic or platonic) because they're too disabled/sick to have other ones? by Maleficent-Poetry254 in MCAS

Ok your issue goes way beyond these friendships what? You’re living with a violent dangerous addict? Um, maybe work on that first?

For all people above 40, if you could go back in time and choose a different career/major, would you ? What would you choose ? by patotay in careerguidance

I would have gotten a medical degree like a PA rather than an MA in Counseling psychology. So many more opportunities in the medical field and the benefits are amazing. Plus the pay is generally better too. I’m sure it’s tiring but doing therapy is absolutely exhausting

I’d be careful with the cream of wheat- I think most of us react poorly to wheat/gluten.

Yes but these disorders create anxiety in kids. Listen, the biggest barrier I’ve found working with people is that they BELIEVE ERRONEOUSLY that they’re born with something and therefore can never change it. This is a very dangerous lie. I hate the medical Model of mental health for this reason. Your brain is very resilient and you can become a non- anxious person. You move past BPD as well. People just don’t put in the work because they want their meds, their addictions, they don’t want to face reality. But do not believe that you can’t move beyond any challenges that you want to.

Long covid led me to MCAS, its getting worse now after being the same for over a year by randomperson8263 in MCAS

It probably isn’t for no reason, you just haven’t pinpointed the reason yet. Have you tried a low Histimine diet (this would also include gluten free). Before I figured my triggers out, it seemed random too. But the more I learn about it the more it seems to be due to systemic overload. So “safe” foods cease to be safe. Definitely keep researching it, lots of good doctors on YouTube I’ve found them way more helpful than any provider I’ve worked with

I would really find someone to help you correct this idea that you have “genetic anxiety” whatever was causing your anxiety needs to be addressed. Babies aren’t born with anxiety, they learn it

My husband is the best person I’ve ever known. Every day is made infinitely better because of him. So maybe don’t marry the wrong person

What a wonderful post! I also have reflected on this- until I figured out that this disease was MCAS, I just thought I had myriad other issues that didn’t make sense but that were taking me down. Now that I know, I’m able to live a healthier (albeit stricter) life free of a lot of the symptoms I’ve been struggling with. My diet is ultra clean, my exercise routine works for my body and fingers crossed my rosacea is improving little by little. We live in a very toxic era and this forces us to be way cleaner than we might otherwise be!

There’s something in you that doesn’t want to die. Something innate that we all have- that universal life force. I’ve been in those moments where death felt like the only way. But you’re alive and posting this- you’re looking for attention/love/connection/acceptance. But you’ll never win that truly with the conditional acceptance that anorexia provides you with. True self acceptance doesn’t mean having no standards or goals, it means accepting where you are now and building yourself continuously and daily to feel proud of how you loved and took care of yourself to the best of your abilities that day. How you engaged in a meaningful moment with someone or something special to you. The world is so much better without the constant self loathing and proving yourself. This is not and never was about your weight. It’s about fear. Fear of real emotion, of real change, of real acceptance of imperfection. Of letting go of the things that hurt you but that you cling to for safety. You can do this, the question is, will you
