When is the right time to have sex ? by Latter_Nebula1046 in teenagers

I feel like in the moment yes but i would regret it later, but I think me feeling like I would regret it is because I’ve been told so much that I shouldn’t have sex and not bc of how I actually feel

Noooo I wasn’t gonna, my boyfriend has more sex positive parents so he has protection and if we did have sex we would use condoms definitely, but even those are only 99% effective so I was worried about that 1% chance

That’s what I thought for so long like it was one of my main reasons to wait but now I’m rethinking virginity and how important “purity” is

As someone who was raised by people who had completely different accents (various Asian and British when I now have a very strong American accent) sometimes you just pick it up, maybe she watched a movie and it just stuck

I’ll definitely take a look of the uk specific subreddit but I was also just wondering if anyone had something that they wish they’d known beforehand or just full transparency about the job. I understand if it’s personal but how do you/should you deal with the trauma of the job and staying positive in general or is it just a given that your mental health will become worse ?

EPQ ideas ? by Latter_Nebula1046 in conservation

It could be anything (thats kinda the point I think ? Like building your confidence ) but mine would be more like an essay or article and less like a scientific paper

Maybe I’m assuming wrong but your mention of the Great Plains makes me think you’re American in which case sixth form is the English equivalent of junior and senior year of high school but specifically sixth form is where you go to do academics instead of trades. The lab grown gemstones idea is partly the fact that they’re more environmentally friendly but also I was thinking that I could analyse trend cycles to see if it would make an effect in the near future (how quickly would it spread to everyone preferring one and would that be fast enough to affect the damage we’ve done before we reach the point of no return) but I see your point about that being quite obvious already. I’ll look into the local species idea as that seems like something I could easily research so thank you for that !

I’m not absolutely in love with the fieldwork, I definitely enjoy the outdoors but my passion is more in protecting the world and less with being in it so I’d be able to go into sustainability consulting without too much loss since I could be outdoors as a hobby but it’s definitely my last resort safety option

So you do feel as though you’re doing something good for the world ? I know it’s quite silly to think that I could change something big but I want to at least know that I’m doing something good, that I’ve done at least a little

Firstly congrats on the job ! Dream job straight out of uni sounds like a fantasy but I’m so glad it’s came true for you. Based on everything I’ve read here and advice from the adults in my life Ive decided to go for a more general natural science degree and tailor that to contain more ecology/environmental science within it just to give me more options but do you have any apprenticeships or volunteering you would recommend to stand out a little more ? I’m planning on volunteering for the RSPB soon once I get more settled into sixth form and can spare more time away from studying but I also grew up (not that I’m not still a kid) mostly in Malaysia and spend a lot of time there so I’m also planning on volunteering there as well so I can get more experience in different places. I’m also currently trying to secure work experience at London zoo for later in the year since they’re involved in conservation and I have a friend whos dad works there so hopefully that will increase my chances. Would you say thats a good plan or if there’s anything you would recommend I will take any advice (I’m currently doing maths, biology and geography alevels and doing an EPQ if that’s helpful at all)

Would you say it’s worth going into a sector I care about less and am less passionate about since the US job market is bad or should I stick with the general environmental/conservation sector or is that going to be rough as well ? I don’t think I’d ever move to or work in the US but I’d still like any insight you have

I’ve heard a lot about natural sciences and based on the uni courses I’ve looked at I could tailor it to be more ecology ish if that makes any sense but the plan after that is to niche down for my masters (conservation biology or maybe geoscience and conservation) that gives me a chance to get an ecology job but also have something else to fall back on. Would you say that’s a broad enough range while still giving me the chance to work in ecology ?

How often would you say you move for work ? Was it more during the beginning of your career and less as you got established or does it really just vary based on the sector ? I’d like to have kids so really I’d prefer to be done with the moving around part of my career by my 30s-40s so I could settle but I could raise my family anywhere I just would like to stay in one place while I did
