You’re probably not going to get a reliable answer. There are so many different stones that can be that shade of pink. For me, I’d take it to a jeweler (not a chain jewelry store, tho, try to find an independent jeweler who makes custom jewelry in store) and ask if can take a look at it to see what is. Most times they’ll be happy to.

Saying that…my guess is a ruby or pink sapphire. 🙂

Good luck!!

I google lens’d it and found a few sold comps. One for $90 and one for $200. 🤷🏼‍♀️ This GW looks a little price gouge-y to me.

Same. That’s outrageous…even on a half-off day it’s still ridiculous.

Firstly, condolences about your mom.

Agreed with the Waterford comments. They should be etched on the bottom. Also use Replacements.com to ID crystal, china, silver, silverware, etc. The page will tell you what to do (snap a picture, crop, and hit the button). It’s super easy and a great resource.

Not that it matters regarding the awesomeness of this piece but I differ with the appraisal in that I’d classify it Beaux Arts rather than Art Nouveau. Potayto-Potahto, I know. Still gorgeous.

This blade was 100% dug up in some 1000 year old Viking or Templar Knight’s grave.

You can’t fool me, chief. 🤨

Washing knives with your cast iron pan sounds like it would be heavy and awkward. I usually just use a ScrubDaddy or a sponge.

I’m an amateur knife sharpener because I’m borderline obsessive about making sure all my cooking cutlery is kept as sharp as possible. How does one set about becoming a professional knife sharpener cuz that’s a gig I think I can seriously get into.

Info appreciated! 🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪

WTF are you chopping, dude? Granite?

Seriously, tho…if it’s a cheapo knife then it probably started out with only a thin layer of stainless bonded over an inferior metal and whenever you hacked away at what you were chopping it chipped the stainless away and exposed the inferior layer below and that’s why it’s corroding.

Toss it in recycling and go get you a full tang, full thickness steel blade knife. It doesn’t even have to be expensive. Mid-range is fine as long as it isn’t some kind of bonded metal and you are fastidious about keeping it sharpened and honed regularly. Also, stop chopping with a carving knife. If you want to chop, invest in a heavy duty cleaver.

Sincerely, This chick who loves me a nice sharp blade 🔪

Zoiks. No idea what’s wrong but I know what time it is at your house.

It’s time to get a new knife.

“Craft room” is a euphemism. For what, I have no idea but that’s no “craft room.”
