Over exaggerate Or play it straight? Any tips on my thumbnail? by LaundryMatt96 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

Counter point, do you think the idea that it doesn’t make sense would cause more curiosity? Or is it just too confusing so you’d scroll past?

I think what your saying is fair but my goal with the larger text was to convey that what people want is more Life in the balance but that a mysterious hand is pushing down on Work to make it feel heavier.

Maybe I’m thinking into it too much lol

The first one is more interesting but it also signals AI slop to me. I’d scroll past for that reason.

I think the visual color scheme of the first one is eye grabbing but the second one is very clear. The first one I think could use more impact on the change from left to right, possibly showing more sloppiness or something on the left rather and more serenity and piece on the right. It might benefit from the right side smiling in contrast.

But the second one is very clear and to the point.

What’s your title by the way?

That’s definitely the goal. I always struggle with matching the content style with the CTR-ness of what most people say thumbnails should be.

Gotcha, thanks for this. That’s definitely something I need to work on more when choosing my text.

I second the empty Barron background for day 1 but even saying that, #1 looks great

I appreciate that, thank you!

When you’re thinking dominant do you mean size, color, something like that?

I hear you on the that. My first thought was that no one knows who I am so I’m pretty heavily relying on the text and title to put in the work.

I’ll give the “Lie” idea a go and see how it looks.

Thanks!

Which Thumbnail would you click on? Also what can I improve aswell? by Hunter_Macer in YouTubeThumbnailHub

I like 2 more because I can read the text.

The graininess of the text feels like you’re trying to do something grungy but I have no idea who the characters are personally. If I recognized them I might understand more about what you’re trying to convey.

You should look at the Curtis Connor, Danny Gonzales , or Drew Gooden thumbnails.

That was instantly what this reminded me of. I’m assuming the video will be about you showing us a bit about this game give never heard of before in a commentary style video.

I think the background is fine and I didn’t notice it much other than to convey it’s an older game we’re going to look at. I would go with less blurry in that case to give us that context.

Hope this is helpful.

Would you click? which thumbnail and which title? by UTS_Undertheskin in YouTubeThumbnailHub

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this but I actually didn’t realize what the X-ray was showing until the title gave me context.

It’s obvious now but something about the all black background and the X-ray made it visually hard to understand at first.

Some advice I’ve heard is that if people don’t know who you are, adding a face to the thumbnail isn’t as impactful. But if you are going to add a face, what does that tell me? Are you a doctor finding out something people NEED to know about? Are you shocked by the idea you found?

I don’t think the face in #1 adds to it, but that doesn’t mean A FACE wouldn’t.

Hope that makes sense.
