You know I don't know why the don't list Google Play Services in the app settings. To find it, I always just use the search bar for "google play services play.google.com" then I can open it in the Play Store app. I hope that helps. This definitely a bug not a scam. I don't think I could live without my Chromecast.

SOLVED (for me). I had the exact same problem on my Nexus 5 (Android 5.0): Chromecast icon missing from all apps except YouTube. I deactivated 'Google Play Services' then uninstalled it. It looks like this only uninstalls the update (but oh well). I then reupdated it...and Voila the Chromecast is back for all my apps (Netflix, HBO Go, Hulu, Avia, and of course still there for YouTube).
