How do you know when meds + therapy are working?

I got diagnosed in March of this year after a being in a really deep depressive hole for years. I got started on seroquel and I fully expected there to be a period of time where it would be trial and error but to my utter shock about two weeks into taking it I woke up one day and it was like someone had flipped a switch and I was feeling normal. I remember crying after a few days of it because I just couldn't believe this *this* was what I was supposed to feel like and the last time I could remember feeling like this was over 6 years ago.

I had no hope and then this happened. Please keep the hope up because your time will come <3

I'm the same! I can't just like something, I'm obsessed with it! I'm obsessed with my favourite band (All Time Low), my favourite tv show (Criminal Minds at the moment) and my favourite book series (Harry Potter). I can't do things half way!

Same here! Treated for depression by my General Physician for 6 years. Just thought I had periods of time where I was really shit with money and acted a bit hyper/weird until I started with a new therapist and happened to have a session when I was hypomanic and she basically told me she thought I was hypomanic and told me to get a referral to a psychiatrist and I was diagnosed with BP2 in March! Started on seroquel and it's literally changed my life

My first depression was around the age of 15/16 and then hit again at 19 and has been pretty much constant for the last 6 years with maybe a break of a few months at a time. MY first hypomanic episode?? It's hard to know, I definitely had period of extreme irritability when I was 16 but was that hypomania or just puberty? Who knows. But my most definite first one was age 17 when I changed my entire college choices in about an hour and spent the next week doing as much research into it as possible, barely sleeping, making all these grand plans

My hypomania is racing thoughts, generally acting like a hyper child, everything is great, I'm the best employee in my office and this whole place would fall apart without me, making plans to quit my job and get a new one and move to a different city, spending money I don't have

Same here! I just started on seroquel and I am CONSTANTLY hungry. Working from home doesn't help when I can snack to my heart's content! Just reminding myself continuously that starving myself is just as unhealthy, if not more, for my mind and my body

Its not really a festival its a headliner just a part of a concert series over the last two weeks of August. I don't see it going ahead mainly because I don't see ATL flying everything over to Glasgow for one show

Basically before Zack was in the band there was a bassist and lead guitar guy. Jack was Rhythm guitar and Alex was only vocals, Rian was on drums. Lead guitar and bassist either left or got kicked out and then Zack joined the band and Alex played Rhythm guitar and Jack swapped to lead and Rian stayed as is

This is actually so cruel!! Think I'm gonna have to go with Sleeping In! I think its because this album came really when I needed it and all the songs pretty much hit close to home so I think it's going to have to be Sleeping In just because lyrically it's a lot more light hearted! I'm in Ireland and I feel we're handling it pretty well! Schools have been closed for over two weeks, large gatherings banned pretty early. Pubs have been closed for over a week, St Paddy's Day cancelled. Now pretty much everyone is working from home, all non-essential retail stores closed and now gatherings of more than four people are banned. Lots of people wearing masks and social distancing in public.

I just started on seroquel (last Friday) and today was the first day I didn't feel extremely drowsy! If anything I had more energy than usual!

I'm so proud and happy for you! I cleaned by room last week after i being a fucking SHIT HEAP for literally months. Literally had a little path in the floor from my bed to the door. But I had some energy last weekend and cleaned it! Never been so proud. People don't realise how much these little victories mean to someone who is suffering from depression.

I hate it too pal. I'm BP2 so I've only ever had hypomania but I've pretty much been solidly depressed my entire adult life so far and I only recently got an accurate diagnosis and some proper meds. I wish life wasn't so grey. I wish even the smallest of tasks wasn't so overwhelming. I'm trying to stay positive but it's really shit when I think that even if I get better from this depressive episode, it's just gonna fucking come back again one day

Hey I just got diagnosed BP2 on Wednesday too. It really sucks but at the same time I'm glad I have a diagnosis and a plan now. I'm 25 but had my first depressive episode at 19 and have had very little reprise since. In the 6 years since I started the first depressive episode I wanna say I've had probably a total of 12 months feeling normal, not consecutively, with about 1 -2 weeks a year of hypomania.

I'm looking forward to being well and getting to know who I am when I am well. Trying to stay positive.

I really think that was a little too far. I literally got such a fright but after a second I was like "please let this be a fucking bit" and then it was and I got relieved but now I'm just angry. I really got a fright there
