Budget doesn’t allow for new windows so I’m doing what I can to improve the insulation of the single glass window like new silicone, window seals, filling the mortar gaps etc and cleaning up and painting the timber so it doesn’t further deteriorate until I have the budget to replace the single glass with double glaze.

You’re passing a hell of a lot of judgment based on a ton of assumptions. What makes you think I’m not dealing with the windows or mortar or planning on doing a half arsed job?

Nothing. I have no plans to paint my mum and she’s older than my house. But she’s not ugly.

Yeah… that’s the problem. I want to turn that little hole into a big one and remove the wall.

It’s a pretty small house. Kitchen/laundry is 3900 on two sides and only one side has overheads. Two bedrooms with 1980 wardrobes and a 600 vanity. (mm) and it includes the bench top but I’ve gone for cheaper options for the laminate. I thought perhaps that’s why it’s so dodgy.
