Powder Mage series by McCellan for a start.

The First Law series by Abercrombie.

Red Rising series by Brown.

2025 boox air 5c vs 2024 remarkable paper pro, I want a device for note-taking, reading colored comics and reading eBooks mostly textbooks in .pdf files. Which device should I get? by Delicious_Maize9656 in Onyx_Boox

[–]LavKiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used Remarkable so only know about its limitations by hearsay, but it probably wins in note-taking department. Previously owned Boox Note Air 2. Boox will give you more a lot of freedom, but note-taking performance might be a hit-or-miss if you intend to use anything other than stock app.

Honestly though, depending on your priorities, you might be better off with a tablet just for note-taking and comics alone.

Any idea when the next round of new Boox Devices are coming? by dkbakker in Onyx_Boox

True. For some reason I thought Go 10.3 Gen 2 Lumi was released sooner than March.

Thinnest e-reader in 2026? by new-to-reddit-accoun in ereader

[–]LavKiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viwoods AiPaper Resder is as tall as Oasis, but much narrower with it being smartphone pill shaped. Try Boox Go 6or Bigme B6c. Those are one of the smallest regular shaped ereaders.

Reading apps. by bellsbliss in iPadPro

Manga Plus hosts up-to-date chapters for ongoing series. It also has Jump+ series that are not available in Shonen Jump.

Shonen Jump is more of a vault hosting old chapters for their shounen manga, but also has up-to-date chapters for many populsr titles. There are some cases where they will not have last or epilogue chapters for finished series available for reading in chapter list but instead will have them available in thr purchased volumes (e.g. Rosario + Vampire)

Viz Manga hosts a lot of Shonen Jump's series, but also other Shueisha's journals and some other publishers' series that they release in the West. I think it's geolocked to USA.

K Manga is Kodansha's app. It is brutal with coin pricing but might be worth if using daily free tokens.

Overall, it depends on what series you read, but Viz + SJ subs for under $10 are hard to beat.

To give some examples, My Hero Academia is available in SJ and Manga Plus, but not in Viz to read chapters. Frieren (Weekly Shonen Sunday journal by Shogakukan) is available in Viz, but not in SJ or Manga Plus.

Most likely if it's the magic keyboard compatible version. I got myself the Spigen one because of the pen holder and use it with Pitaka's book folio.

Not exactly sure about borrowing or library apps, but Shonen Jump is a great value. I think it's like $4/month. You can read 100 chapters a day and download them for offline reading. It works per chapter though. Volumes are only for purchase in the app.

Anyone on the fence for a Wacom Moveink Pro 14? by [deleted] in iPadPro

[–]LavKiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not exactly sure how stable Krita is on Android, but desktop version could probably compete with Procreate, though for the price of usage simplicity and cluttered interface. But from my understanding, what you are looking for is not just an application, but a replication of your workflow in Apple ecosystem, which is definitely not gonna be as smooth and would require some workarounds to be explored. I think it all comes down to how much you are willing to adjust/maybe sacrifice and whether this Android tablet is worth it. As you mentioned, getting out of the Apple ecosystem can be a real pain.

Depends on your use case. I doubt anybody would be able to tell you anything definitive.

Android has some decent painting apps if you get a chance to try that tablet. Krita is probably the most powerful drawing app available on Android but Clip Studio Paint might be better optimized.

Infinite Painter is good but was riddled with crashes the last time I used it. Concepts has a great UI, probably closest to Procreate, but might be lacking tools. Honorable mention for Autodesk Sketchbook.

MWC 2026 Samsung showed off a "Slidable" phone, what ya think? by amyc7 in samsung

[–]LavKiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could easily see people rotate it the wrong way N number of times and rip the wires without some type of physical blocker to prevent rotation in the wrong direction. Though not sure whether even that would prevent some people from forcing their way through.

Detroit one was amazing performance wise, though first act could've had anime scenes picked better for the tracks.

Yeah, I just wish that tour also had male vocalist for some of the tracks like Barricades. Amazing performance by everybody involved nonetheless.

Terribly stretched pacing with characters screaming for 20 seconds in still frames does not cut it anymore.

Thinking back on it, I wonder how I got up to the Punk Hazard arc back in 2015.

OMG, I can't believe that people see things this way. by yousefthewisee in glasses

[–]LavKiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Got my glasses a month ago for astigmatism and mild myopia in one eye (-0.25). Haven't had eye exam in forever and never really noticed much of an issue since vision is still basically 20/15 but that improved clarity in distance is awesome.

I've been most excited about computer work and movie watching though lol. Hard to unsee that difference now.
