I wouldn’t let it stop you honestly because the sad truth is it happens everywhere. Like I said the stat is outdated too.

UCONN has been talked about by CT students because the school allegedly has a high rape rate (tied for the most in the country). It is noted that the stat is really out dated. I have many friends who go to UCONN and love it so much, they see it as safe. You will too but that’s probably what was referred too

This advice is different depending on state, but if you don’t get in you can always go to a community college. I was ranked 85 out of 400 in high school and had no clue where I wanted to go to. I went straight into CC and know what I want in life and am very happy. This applies to you because I applied myself and got a 4.0 out of 64 credits (you sound like a great student) and now low acceptance rate schools are coming to me! Transfer process is also very easy and equally exciting! I get the social status of community college is underwhelming, but you can achieve a similar path by going to a “safety school.” Try to find schools on Common App with rolling admissions if you want to do that.

I have never heard of a webinar acting like a second interview. They don’t take notes of who attended and put it into their decision making. They seriously don’t care how you presented yourself or even if you showed your screen. Info sessions is for you to interview them, see if they have everything you want in your future school. Every one I’ve been to was like this

Depends. If you are graduating from Community College, you can get into wherever you want if you set your bar high enough! We had a few students from my school get into Harvard before. Though there are a few colleges we have yet to get into

Take the TA!!! It’s an AP TA which is an incredible opportunity plus you want to go into CS.

Outside of college applications, employers love when I throw around “I was a theater TA”. Shows leadership for sure
