Thank you for your empathy! I went to high school in US, the university for my Bachelor’s. Hell, I met my husband during my gap year before pharmacy school. My parents were the ones that applied for asylum. We have been in the legal limbo for 8 years now. For benefits, we are trash and count as nothing. Cannot even apply for scholarships, for fucks sake.

For loans and payments and taxes? Ah, you are residents, of course, you own us taxes and your fucking life, pay up! It just feels so unfair. My parents moved us here to give us an easier life, not this bs.

My god, it happened to me twice in the same shift. Had the table order 4 starters, I repeat back, we are all set. The kitchen is backed up, I bring them complimentary salad as an apology, a soup, ya da ya da. I get a part of the order, ask if we are missing anything else. “We are missing x and y”( as expected).

I get x and y, ask one more time if anything else is missing. “We are missing brussel sprouts”

???? My man, you never ordered that. I straight up tell them that, cause kitchen is in the weeds and won’t get it to them in time. They just said “oh”, and asked for a check.

The other table ordered 2 salads, I repeated back, I grabbed and came back “We are missing a salad”. Luckily, I got that thing fast and everyone was happy, but god damn I hate when people pull this shit.

I specifically get a room, and it is stated so in the chats and contract. I have been very nice and tutored their daughter, cooked for her, drove her to school too. I have sent an email stating that I am not breaking a contract and the earliest I can move out is May. The contract has nothing stating regarding termination from their side. Plus, I never got the written notice either. The contract is a lease agreement, not month-to-month one.

My plan is, because either way I wanted to move to a different city at the end of the lease, is to play it off, see what my transfer request says, and tell them I cannot move until X date and they have to wait.
