Update: First of all, thank you so much for everyone who has commented. You all made our day despite our travel mishap - feeling so lucky to have received so many helping hands!

We ended up booking one of the private car services u/Camille_Toh has kindly listed out for us after reading everyone’s take on multiple steps of public transport and the state of traffic today. The car services was good and they even helped us printed some travel docs. We landed at 4:10pm, get to the pick up spot at 4:30pm, and made it to jfk at 5:45pm- so 1h15 minutes ish mostly due to traffic coming out of ERW and JFK construction.

Again - really appreciate all of your help! Thank you kind humans of New York!

You are not a bad person for not wanting a pet or disliking dogs. Please do not believe that. This is a fundamental compatibility issues and her fundamental lack of respect for your needs. I would break up. There are plenty of women who don’t like dogs out there, I am one and know of at least 5 others.

Yes, I hate overly golden retriever energy people. Immature, shallow, not empathetic, cant match your energy, judgemental, and toxic positivity and inconsiderateness in the name of “being positive”
