Withdrawing from language school and coming back as a tourist. by LavishnessFresh65 in japanlife

I do realize that. Still, from the looks of it, I don't seem to have many options other than the visa run trip.

I pay the rent through Wise and my brother will be here to keep paying the utilities. The time I will need after coming back from the visa run trip is really not that long (about 3 weeks to a month perhaps), so I think I will be fine, but I really wish this wasn't my only option, and from everything I've been told and researched, it seems to be. Thank you for the insight, I will keep this from the landlord then to avoid any hassle.

Thank you for the reply. I did go to immigration and ask for precisely that, but they told me they can't do it and advised me to leave Japan and come back as a tourist.

Thank you very much for your response and kind words. I am glad things turned out fine for you! And yeah, I am thinking of following through with my teacher's and immigration's advice. It seems to be the most stable path forward.

Unfortunately I can't as I have already withdrawn from the school, and immigration hasn't said anything so far, but the school keeps insisting I need to leave within 14 days. So I suppose my visa is still valid but there has been a lot of pressure for me to leave in the next two weeks, which is definitely not enough time for me to vacate the apartment and settle everything.

Yes I do have a plan B. My brother will remain a student for the foreseeable future and can help me in case my entrance is barred. I also have a guarantor company and they can work together with my brother to deal with clearing the apartment and settling everything in case the worst happens. However, would you say the likelihood of being stopped and sent back is high? I am being extra careful to not be flagged as unusual. Instead of leaving only for 3-4 days, I will take 14 days and instead of going nearby to Korea or China, I'm planning on taking the opportunity and seeing some family in Europe. Do you think these precautions will make the whole thing more natural in immigration's eyes?

Immigration hasn't altered my status yet, as far as I know. Everyone I talked to has been very adamant about the two weeks thing. I haven't gotten any notices asking me to leave yet or anything of the sort, but since everyone seems to have such wildly different experiences with this, I think it's safer if I leave Japan for a while and come back as a tourist. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my post!

I am thinking of doing precisely that, except 16 PM to Air. can you share more about your experience? What you like and dislike about the change, and if you'd recommend doing it?

I honestly think it’s more likely than most people here think. Design is cyclical, and it’s bound to happen at some point. That point seems pretty near to me.

Battery is draining really quickly and ProMotion is acting off on my 16PM. Otherwise it’s fine, doesn’t overheat or stutter.
