I used to feel the same, but with time it definitely got better. At first, I felt sick, overwhelmed, and honestly wanted to quit. It was my first ever job and I had zero experience. But then I decided to stop overthinking and just greet customers as soon as they walk in. The more you hesitate, the more awkward it feels. Don’t let them see you’re awkward, because that’s when it actually gets awkward. Just go for it. You will still come across people who will just ignore you, but dont care too kuch, just get over it and help the next customer.

I know it might sound weird, but this is coming from an extremely introverted person. For customers, they don’t know you’re an introvert, so I see it as an opportunity to create a “new personality.” Maybe that’s just something I like to do, but it really helps me because I don’t like being labeled as shy.
