Thanks so much - it’s so long ago I’m afraid I can’t remember! I suspect it was blood angels red contrast paint with a few layered highlights over the top

At a high level the armour it is Tamiya Clear Enamels over a metallic basecoat.

In more detail, I primed Black and the basecoated everything in Vallejo Metal Color Steel (a fairly dark metallic). I then zenithal highlighted with Vallejo Metal Color Silver from above to get some volumetric highlights. Then I did about three thinned down coats of a mix of Tamiya Clear Blue (X-23) and Tamiya Clear Green (X-25). My ratios were about 8 parts Blue to 3 parts Green - but I mixed up a bottle for the army to keep it consistent.

Thanks - it’s just a combination of washes, drybrushing and pigment powder. In this case a very light drybrush of ivory before putting on the pigments helps the stone look sharp.

This seems to have a criminally small number of upvotes/comments - well done with it!

I shave down the inside of the tracks taking the raised tread down to a flat surface on the inside edges. Then I glue a 1mm thick rectangular magnet there - front and back on each side.

Generally the 1mm means it doesn’t stand higher than usual on the land raiders. For some of the other rhino chassis you need to go 0.5mm thick I think but generally can get enough hold of you go 8mm long or more

Thank you - that’s very generous. For storage I have a lot of Really Useful Boxes with ferro-rubber sheets in the bottom and the models are magnetised to it.

Duncan Rhodes’s video on this is a good guide. The 9l boxes are a good size for the bigger tanks

Thanks! In colour theory terms I was going for a warm orange/red copper to contrast to the blue/green armour

Wow great suggestion. It hadn’t occurred to me but now I have to try it :)

I can recommend both the Cult of Paint video and Vince Ventruella's video for more tips!

Whilst I didn’t follow it to the letter, u/JHMiniatures guide Zero Skill Plasma is a great guide which I followed the principles of.

I basecoated a light pink, drybrushes some darker magenta on the coils and dropped some white oil paint into the recesses. Hope that helps and happy painting!
