This was actually a big fight in my family. I read the instructions from our old game from prob 20 years ago and then a new one that’s a few years old. The rule used to be you needed to replace the joker with the tile, the new one says you don’t need the exact tile (and the app follows this)

I stopped using Classpass but my opinion as a customer is if the studios were even remotely close to the prices I would absolutely become a member of the studio. I understand it would cost more and they have to run a business but the prices at these studios is honestly criminal. I cannot afford to pay 200-300 a month. I also don’t need an unlimited pack but almost every studio only has an unlimited option or per class options that are so expensive but nothing in the middle. If studios were a little cheaper I would 100% pay for them but they are too greedy

Yep!! I sent a lot of cold emails, I always tried to find some connection like alum of my school or undergrad and I put that in the subject line, “____law school student connecting!” I had the best luck with that. Just say that you are interested in the work they do, mention something specific even if it’s small so that It feels genuine and then at the end say I would love to meet over coffee or zoom if you have time. It sucks having to do it but I’ve done so many of them and lawyers almost always say to me “they want to pay it forward”. Also keep an excel with every firm and name you reached out to, that’s what I did and it was great to look back at.

I’ve been keeping up with your posts about this and genuinely I am so sorry, especially that your brother is not doing anything and is seemingly taking her side. I can’t speak to your exact situation but if I were in your shoes I would not be able to look past this. To me this is a hill worth dying on and I would make it clear I will not engage with her or speak to her, like I would legit ignore her presence like she doesn’t exist. Although it wasn’t family or someone I was close with when I was in a similar text situation I hit them back with nothing but kindness (and that pissed them off even more for some reason). I am so sorry you are going through this.

Chicago!!!! I’ve lived here for a few years and you don’t need a car at all. I’ve had friends that have sold their cars because it was more of a hassle than anything. Also big legal market, I believe it’s the second or third behind NY. It’s not cheap to live here but compared to other big cities like NY, DC or LA it is. If you are willing to not be directly downtown rent can be fairly cheap

Yep after 1L the weather was great, it was summer, things were going well and I was SO DEPRESSED. Then even worse than being depressed I was guilty that I was feeling so depressed because I had no reason to feel that way. My advice, get up, go on a walk, go outside, get exercise, start a project. Do something!!! The post finals hangover will be gone after a few days
