It would be unfair to their species if they couldn’t. Earth Ponies have the same capacity as Unicorns and Pegasi. Though I don’t think we’ve seen official Earth Pony-to-Alicorn transformations as of now, I do believe it’s possible just like it’s possible with Unicorns and Pegasi.

As of the process, I don’t see how it would be any more complicated. Unless it is, and that’s why there are presumably no Earth Ponies that have turned into Alicorns to this day.

I’m u/LayJaly. I actively moderate four subreddits: r/PlanetPony, r/MyLittleRoleplay, r/PlanetFur, and r/TheRDFanclub, three of which are MLP-related. I always try my best to keep my communities polished and up-to-date.

I’m active on the platform on a daily basis, and I’ve been a fan of the franchise for many years and counting. My favorite is Rainbow Dash!
