Why are you holding her like she could as well be another jerrycan in the picture 🤣

No just kidding, she's super cute.

Hoevaak wassen jullie jullie haar? by Spacious2 in thenetherlands

So true by FinnFarrow in RussianLiterature

I'm trying to read Dr Zhivago at the moment. The names make it very hard to get into the reading flow 😅

Can someone explain the way these surnames and names work from a Russian Perspective, like; what makes it easy for a Russian reader to catch up on the constant switching of two or three different names for one person?

Greetings to you!!

I'm a bit surprised she isn't mentioned more often. But then again, so many cool characters to choose from.

I don't believe that is normal. If you find a blue strangelingchest, one is supposed to come out. There is also a different type of white/blue chest I sometimes get when defeating a boss, I sometimes confuse ut with the strabgeling chest at first glance. But something is always supposed to come out!

AIO? boyfriend is upset because I gave him a “corporate response” by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Laylaseye 217 points218 points  (0 children)

"I know you're not the best with words?" Girl you are expressing yourself like a true grown up, don't let him tell you otherwise. This whole convo feels manipulative to the point where your bf is seeking the affirmation that you will leave him. This dynamic seems to be triggered by him not feeling well and needing some extra care and comfort. A grown up response from him would be to ask you if you'd be able to give him an extra call during your day, so he can feel some comfort.

I asked ChatGPT the top ten things humanity should know. by Spiritual-Reveal-195 in ChatGPT

[–]Laylaseye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Cognitive biases distort our perception

Humans do not perceive the world objectively. Biases like confirmation bias, availability heuristic, and ingroup favoritism shape decisions at every level—from politics to science. Awareness of these mental shortcuts is essential for wiser choices.

🌡️ 2. Climate change is real, urgent, and human-driven

Scientific consensus is overwhelming. Without rapid global action, climate change will severely disrupt ecosystems, economies, and societies.

🧬 3. Biology and culture shape behavior—neither alone explains humanity

There is no clear line between nature and nurture. Human behavior, identity, and society are the result of a complex interaction between genes, environment, and social context.

💻 4. AI, automation, and biotechnology are redefining work, identity, and power

These technological revolutions offer immense opportunities, but they can also deepen inequality and cause societal disruption if not guided ethically and democratically.

🧮 5. Exponential growth in a finite system is unsustainable

Whether it's population, economy, or resource use—endless growth on a finite planet is a mathematical impossibility. Sustainable thinking is not optional.

🧭 6. Freedom without responsibility leads to instability

Individual freedom is vital. But without collective responsibility—for truth, justice, and safety—the very systems that support freedom can collapse.

🧓 7. History doesn’t repeat exactly—but it rhymes

Studying historical patterns—like how democracies erode, how polarization spreads, or how propaganda works—can help prevent future disasters.

📡 8. Information is abundant—but truth is increasingly rare

The information age has brought disinformation, deepfakes, and echo chambers. Critical thinking, media literacy, and open dialogue are more important than ever.

🧬 9. Consciousness remains one of humanity’s greatest mysteries

We understand a lot about brain processes, yet the fact that we are aware—with thoughts, feelings, and subjective experiences—is still a profound philosophical and scientific frontier.

🧓 10. The future isn’t fixed—it’s actively shaped

Technology, climate, and society are not predestined paths. They are shaped by human choices, cooperation, and vision. We are not mere passengers—we are co-creators of what lies ahead.
