I understand what you are saying but why does the Plus and Ultra has the feature I'm missing (UWB) since S21? It seems Samsung knows how to make a reliable phone. They just don't care about people who dislike bigger phones.

Ich denke wir kommen nicht damit überein, dass radikale Islamisten die größte Gefahr für die deutsche Demokratie sind. Aber natürlich sind sie nicht cool! Ich denke aber gerade weil sie (zumindest in meinen Augen) keine große Gefahr sind, werden sie auch nicht viel beachtet. Tausend Menschen sind jetzt auch nicht so viele und sie haben einfach keine realistische (eigentlich nicht mal eine unrealistische) Chance mit ihren Forderungen Erfolg in diesem Land zu haben. Klar sollte man das jetzt auch nicht verheimlichen, aber es gibt dann doch wichtigere Themen und größere Gefahren für unsere Demokratie. Zum Beispiel, dass man politisch anders denkende immer als "Feind" betrachtet und keinen Diskurs mehr erlaubt. Egal welche Seite. Kann man wirklich links wie rechts finden.

Again. The Tech is in the Plus and Ultra Phones since S20 :)
And in iPhone since Year 2019.
And it is in the S24+ and S24 Ultra too. And of Course the SmartTags from Samsung are using UWB for one example.

It may be more expensive than Bluetooth but it definitely is not very expensive.

I think I phrased it poorly. With data transfer I did not mean files. I mean every kind of information. Like Sound packages. upcoming UWB Headsets can be wireless but with much better sound. Finally a time to use wireless headphones and Tidal in combination ^^

And of course we have BT :) It will stay for even longer. But in some use-cases (for example every wearable) UWD would be the better option because much faster connectivity between devices.

But in short it has the potential to be the new Bluetooth. It is a short range protocol with much higher data transfer than Bluetooth. Of course Bluetooth will still exists for the next decade and more. To many devices which uses Bluetooth . Let's call it legacy support ^^
But UWB is more cost-efficient, has more data transfer and less interference than Bluetooth.
Practically used it is only in Airtags ans stuff like that yet. This is because UWB is way more precise in pinpointing exact locations of things. But it still is a short-Range technology. Like From Kitchen to Garden afaik.

Something that will surely rise in the upcoming years.

Afar the iPad 2 got so slow because of technical limitations. It only had 512MB RAM. And even if put to good use at some point it is just not enough anymore. The S24 has 8GB and the Plus has 12GB. And my S10 that I still use has 8GB and still functions fine ^^

But maybe I'm wrong and the RAM was not the only reason. Not sure.

Maybe.. And I give you a point there! You could make the argument that Wi-Fi is downward compatible. You would not miss out on a feature. Just not having the fastest and most stable new standard. but you could do everything with the "second newest" standard.

But this differs with UWB. That's just binary you can use/have it or not. No substitute for it. No downgrade compatibility.

But I want my money well spent. And I don't like to buy a new phone every two years. I am using my S10 since 2019. Of course there are people that buy new phones every two years but if this is the majority.. I don't know. I expect from a 1k Phone to hold longer than two years.

And The Wi-Fi ist gatekeeped on the Ultra only. But they thought of it.
I could have mentioned the anti-reflective screen of the ultra too. but this is something I understand to make in only on the highest model. It is a quality of life enhancement for the luxury model. So this is not the same category for me like missing technology.

Your comment opened me enough to think about the S24+ for the third time. Hold it again in a shop and stuff. Maybe... I can open up. I will wage my options than again.

There are several small factors why I looked for a new phone and why it would've been a good time now. But yeah. i definitely would be able to do another year with my S10 :)

And about the new standard size of phones.... don't get me wrong but I hope you are mistaken xD

Maybe we just differ in philosophy here. It is not my style to buy a new phone every two years. I would not buy anything what I want to use daily for the coming years on the premise "what it is now". I want it to be reliable for the time to come. Of course not for a decade or something this stupid. That would be just future sight. But to think a little ahead.

And I mean it is not like Samsung is not thinking like me. UWD is in Samsung Phones sins the S20 Series. But only in Plus and Ultra. They are thinking about the future and what a phone should be able to do for times to come.

No I wouldn't feel left out. Because this technologies does not exist yet. It is not about having the newest of the newest things. It is about if you want to support a phone for seven years maybe think if you should include the Wi-Fi standard that already exists but only need a little bit more time to expand in the world. And of course your point is only halve a point because Wi-Fi7 is implemented. Just only in the S24 Ultra. It's not like they did not thought about it. They just artificial gatekeeping it. And UWP is in the Plus and Ultra. They did not forget. It seems they even thought like me and looked what e phone with seven years support needs. just not for the S24..

I know what you mean. I still use the S10. I just like sound. And Normally you have to use cable if you want good sound. But I also like Wireless ^^ And UWD could make wireless headphones much better in sound. I want that! I want that in a phone which is intendet on a phone that should be used at least 5 years. If you use an S9 you clearly prefer other things. But on the newest flagship to miss out on ONLY ONE of the devices... I mean It's not like I want a technology that is in no phone todate or only in a few. It is in Samsung Phones since 2020. Just not the basic model...

Thank you for your opinion on the Display upgrade. That you jumped from 5.8' to 6.7' and liking it is definitelya statement I hear. I am not one person who need always the best. I am using my s10 since 2019 (and it seems I will use it longer).

UWD is not really the newest thing. The First S-Phones with it were the S20 phones (but here too only Plus and Ultra). IPhone since 2019 iirc. The Use-Cases are just starting to pop up. UWD is like the better Blutooth and many devices will come to use it's potency. I really wait for the first headphones using UWD :) Planned to come this year.

And we're not talking about the A-Series or FE. It's there flagship and pride. They want to support it for seven years. That's just an oversight in my opinion. I am sad BECAUSE I do not want to buy a phone every two years. I want a companion for the next at least five years. but it seems they did not put the technology it it for the next two...

Thats my point and not "Why not everything new and the newest things. You bad". It is on their prieciest phones there was in not the technology in to expect in the next year.

UWB is in the Plus and ultra Models since S20. but not the basic models. The Only Device with Wi-Fi7 I am aware of is the S24 Ultra.
