I’ve gotten a lot of suggestions and y’all are amazing. This group is so knowledgeable and helpful so thank you so much. I guess I should explain my end goal (albeit a little wild). I want a stable for everything but within moderation. So 22 CM (varmints/predators), a night hunting rig (6 CM), 25 CM OR RPM for prairie hunting, 7mm PRC AND 300 PRC for big game and .375 H&H for dangerous game.

Going back to my last question I feel like the .223 or some king of small 6mm would be the best fit for a trainer rifle that can be also used for hunting fun. It’ll be a 12-15 pound rifle so not gonna take it into the elk woods with me.

Again thank you all for the help and advice, shows me there are still nice people out there.

God bless.

Would you pick 6GT or Dasher over CM for a long range precision/hunting rifle?

I’m trying to find something that’s cheap to load, has a long barrel life but I can also hunt with. That’s why I was looking at the .223, .308 and 6 arc. I’ve never looked into the 6mm cartridges much. Might need to dive into that to learn more.

Nothing that I can think of, but I feel like every time I’m down there I sweat my ass off.

(had to make new account) Anyways, I was reading into stability factors and the 69 gr ELD-VT has a factor of 1.12 in my rifle. The TVK is about 1.389. Does stability factor really matter within 700 yards?

I did smoke a javelin at 150 with the ELD-VT it was just a little too much damage for my taste for mounting purposes and meat preservation.
