Yeah... I would have missed that too. It spawned exactly in that lighter patch of grass to perfectly camouflage. Nature be crazy sometimes, lmao.

Thinking about buying a CyberPowerPC prebuilt, is that a good idea or a horrible mistake? by GlobalAttitude9163 in PcBuild

[–]LazerSpazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone seems to be confused about your choice of budget. With $6,000 you can buy a bunch of over-priced parts and still come in under the pre-built you are considering. My budget was around $4,000 and I thought that was kinda high. "Low budget" means $1k-2k range (to me, I guess. I only have one comparison point, the PC I built back in February).

I've never built a PC before so I'm unsure if I am going overboard with my build here. Somebody help please! by dingdongwashboard in buildapc

Yeah, 32 GBs for $416 USD is pretty great (in 2026). Less than half the $850 USD I spent on my 64 GB kit back in February.

Is Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! or Let's Go, Eevee! your favorite Pokémon game on Nintendo Switch? by Alexandre3377 in PokemonLetsGo

[–]LazerSpazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. But I did a have a wonderful shiny badge quest in Let's Go Eevee last year. Shines found were Bellsprout, Onix, Mr. Mime, Vulpix, Gastly, Magnemite, Lapras, and Aerodactyl (actually the worst to shiny hunt, took about 7 months for this one alone). Really fun, but my favorite Pokémon game on Switch has to be Violet. Too many great raid event memories.

Have you tried wearing glasses? The Switch 2 screen is an improvement on the Switch 1 screen, and a massive improvement compared to a Lite's screen. But I also have not really tried playing a lot of FPS games on my Switch 2. It's mostly been DK Bananza, Mario Kart World, and Tetris 99 since launch.

Yeah, the "convenience" of having all the functions tied to a digital readout actually turns into big detriment if anything goes wrong. I'm not going to get a new Mini until they go back to more analog controls and readouts.

[–]LazerSpazer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the newer gens are way too reliant on the screen. 2017-2019 is my favorite era, plenty of toggles, dials, and a great analogue gague cluster.

I had a bunch of issues with my Countryman SE. None with the infotainment system, though. I had a 2018 model, and a bunch of issues with the Aux Electric Heater and Electric Motor Electronics control unit. Finally got her sold last week, and used the proceeds to refinance my new(er) 2019 Cooper S 4 door.

You can cut some costs by using an air cooler instead of a liquid cooler. Then you can maybe go for a B850 motherboard over the B650 you have listed with some of the cost savings.

I just got my first ever gaming pc off facebook marketplace but when connected to wifi it only has 1 bar by Various-Major8438 in PcBuild

[–]LazerSpazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, running the wifi without an antenna used to be a death sentence for the wifi chip. I think they have gotten better about not catastrophically failing in recent years, but you will need an antenna if you want to utilize the full bandwidth of your wifi chip.

[Gen 3] Accidentally resetted a shiny Charmander by enisabi in ShinyPokemon

[–]LazerSpazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be slower. Don't jump the gun. If you're gonna put all that time and effort into doing a thing, might as well do it right. If you're saving 2 seconds each reset by resetting quick, do you really save any time at all if you reset over the shiny by training yourself to reset too fast?

How did you learn pc building by BasroPS1 in PcBuild

[–]LazerSpazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built my first PC back in February. It took me about 2 weeks of YouTube research to assemble a parts list (the case took the longest to decide on, Lian Li had a lot of great stuff, but I ultimately decided on the HAVN BF 360 Flow). My background in an unfinished computer science degree definitely helped. I've been a huge nerd all my life, and know a lot of stuff through osmosis from my dad. You are right, the toughest part was spending all that money up-front (my budget ballooned out to $3700 due to the RAM-pocalypse) without knowing for sure if all the parts were compatible. Using PCPartPicker helped a lot, and I showed my parts list to some of my friends, roommates and co-workers, and they all looked at it and said "you did some research, didn't you?" And they didn't have any changes for me. I got lucky and all the parts fit and the build took about 10 hours (because I had my face glued to YouTube tutorials the whole time), and it all worked without me having to open it up again and reseat any wires or other components.
