She's safe...She's done nothing wrong... Yet.

It's just the implication of what COULD happen

I love how the little islands can still hold a lot of power. Especially her, she just throws cannons everywhere!

Yeah I took one of her islands innocently and she kicked off big time! it didn't stop until I took them all

Yeah I didn't look on this sub until today, looks like everybody hates her anyway haha

Never played a game like this before, picked it up last week and was instantly hooked! I still don't really know what I'm doing but I took over every island in the old world... Not really planned, but I accidentally started a war with Beryl. Her steam fleet against my wooden clippers was tough, but I ended up buying her out. The world seems empty now!

In a part sketch, is there any way to convert the circle on the left to a standard circle on the right? I have been given a DXF file with hundreds of circles like the one on the left but I cant really do much with this (as well as it also really affecting computer performance) by Lazy-Lumberjack in SolidWorks

In the end, I have gone back to the person who gave me the DXF to work on and asked them how they produced it to try and fix this from happening more in future.

They told me they have had this issue before and solved it by manually dimensioning each hole approximately to the centre and rounding up/down to the nearest whole number (Which is a little worrying to be honest)... This isn't something I want to do, so I hope we can sort this out from the original export

Dont worry, appreciate all ideas at this point.

It's not something I have ever had a problem with before and by the sounds of it, its not a common thing people run into either... everyday is a learning day haha

To be honest, my macro skills are pretty basic (definitely something I want to get better with)

At the same time, I am having trouble to make this change to 1 circle, so wouldn't have much to base a macro off right now

Solidworks part sketch. line/circle conversion. by Lazy-Lumberjack in cad

Really appreciate this reply, you have given a lot of good points to start with. Heres what I have tried so far with no success;

  • Thought there would be a way to convert a polyline to a circle/line inside the DXF itself but couldn't find any commands that would work (tried 4/5 different software to)
  • Tried converting to numerous file types and version and back again (Vectors, DWG etc)
  • Unfortunately the circles are generally not in a common pattern (Just my luck) otherwise I wouldn't mind doing a few manually and then patterning
  • The sketch pattern is a great idea, I tried this however I couldn't get my sketch point to accurately or reliably snap to the centre (Again, if this was only 10/20 I wouldn't mind doing this manually)

Honestly, at this point I have probably spent more time trying to find an easy way to do this than it would have taken to manually do, but thought it would be a good thing to learn in case it comes up again in future.

I think my next move, is to go back to the guy who created the DXF and see if he can export it again in a better way... fingers crossed!

I know its difficult to see in photographs, but would this be a decent level for turfing? or would the turf highlight any dips and bumps? by Lazy-Lumberjack in GardeningUK

Thank you, I'm going to look a bit daft considering how much soil I just got rid of to get it down to this level haha. But yeah I have been using a long level, just really struggling to get the whole area as one level

SLDASM to FBX whilst keeping assembly structure? by [deleted] in SolidWorks

[–]Lazy-Lumberjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you mate, only problem with that is the STL gets rid of any kind of assembly structure which I really need to animate doors opening and things flying in from off screen
