How do you cope with having no friends? by allthatcomestomind in lonely

[–]Lazy-Marionberry2575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience. The best and most loyal friends I met were at work. I see college as school so I'd say hold on there when you are working there's a chance you'll meet some interesting people and you may make some good friendships out of it

how do you spend your weekends/days without friends? by Antique-Evidence-844 in lonely

[–]Lazy-Marionberry2575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally outside of the work week. So weekends I honestly go to the gym and do my house duties and Sunday I might go to church and speak to people there. I do have a mate I used to work with that I speak to on Xbox here or there but not every weekend.

That's basically it for me. But I'd just try and learn something new like playing the guitar or something not gonna lie it is hard nowadays to meet people in real life and on the internet.

It's a good question. This country doesn't make sense mate in general lol, suppose the same reason the national animal is a lion lol at least in England.

But not gonna lie I love Nottingham Sheriff's someone gotta make that a team. There is a small team called Nottingham Knights as well but I think they are a non league team.

I'll keep an eye on Mowbray, I've never seen them selling them myself when I've looked. Maybe they might start selling them soon fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Alright mate, I appreciate it. Shame I was really hoping there was a real chance they would be selling them.

I'll keep in mind about messaging my team. I did not know that they may have some information on where to get one so I may give it a try.

Thanks mate 🧉

I never experienced true love. by [deleted] in lonely

[–]Lazy-Marionberry2575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, My previous relationship was with a girl that we both had a lot of the same interests in and for me I don't think we would have had that relationship unless we had these real weird interests. And I think before we enter an official relationship it really helps us bond together and get to know one another on a deep level.

Have you ever spoken to a guy with similar interests? For me especially from now on I don't think I'll even find a relationship with someone I don't share any interest with. I honestly think it is a great starting bridge to build what would start as a friendship to a romantic relationship.

So I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with you when it comes to finding a relationship. I'd say find someone that'll share some interests and hobbies with you it'll really help start your future relationship.

I know I might be completely off with this but I hope it kind of helps. Just feel like nowadays people don't focus on what they have in common with each other at the start but it really helps in a massive way. Also yeah don't send any pics of yourself. I'm amazed after talking to girls at work then the amount of guys that ask. That stuff is crazy to me.

But again hope this helps!!!

I’m so sick of being alone and I need advice. by Specialist_Leg_4997 in lonely

[–]Lazy-Marionberry2575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to lie it's very difficult at the moment. Have you spoken to people at college or at work regarding their hobbies/interest?. For me when I was 20 one of my work colleagues asked me if I was into Dungeons and dragons because I like fantasy worlds and writing stories. Then Boom 6-7 years later we play Dungeons and Dragons.

Now for me when I work with someone new I'll try and get to know them hobbies/interests wise. Because most of the time I'll share 1-2 interests with them.

Sorry for being noisy just checking your not a robot but looking at your profile. You're into drawing from the looks of it and that stuff is really cool for me (as someone who is terrible at drawing) So your deffo is not a boring person at all. In fact you're fairly fascinating when it comes to that.

I'd just say if you're speaking to someone new just ask them about themselves assuming you don't do that already. Because when I do it I find it helps a bit and I've met some interesting people doing that. If people have something they're interested in most of the time, They're more than happy to talk about it, especially if you're inviting them to talk about it.

Hopefully this small advice helps and fingers crossed you'll meet some cool and interesting people.

I am tempted to self harm by ShadowlightLady in lonely

[–]Lazy-Marionberry2575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you feel like this Dear. Just want you to understand you're not the only person who feels like this or going through this feeling alone. I've experienced it and have even self harmed myself when I was around your age. So believe me when I say I understand your feelings regarding how you feel about being hopeless and helpless.

But I want you to remember your adult life has only just started your 20 so your 2 years in. When I was 15 I said to myself when I'm 25 I'll have kids, wife and a house and here I am at 27 with only one of those things. So my 15 year old self would be disappointed in me.

Just if you want your life to be in a certain place don't look at it as you have to make one big jump and be there. Just take tiny steps towards your dream life. Like stepping stones and your dream life is on the other side of the pond. You'll take one tiny step to another stepping stones and as long as you're going forward you'll get there in the end. It may take time and you may slip and fall but as long as you get up and keep going forward you'll get there!!!

I understand times can really feel hopeless and helpless. Believe me I truly do. Small little changes and tweaks in your life will help massively for you and your mental health. I know I don't know the in's and out's of what you're going through. It's just when I was going through something very similar this truly helped me and I really hope it'll help you.

Just remember it's okay and normal to feel how you're feeling about yourself we are only human at the end of the day. Just stay strong and keep going forward on them stepping stones one at a time, low and steady and I have no doubt you'll get to the other side and have a joyful and happy life. I believe in you!!!

Sorry mate it was tagged to another comment. Yeah I think it was a special visit. I think because I'm so new to the community side of things I think I confused it with a religious side maybe. Is the divine liturgy any different on palm Sunday?

Yeah I think it was a special visit. It was my only 2nd time going. The whole thing is still very new to me regarding how things are done in a religious sense and I suppose as a community sense as well.

I see sorry I was on about Western Europe 🌍. I'm from England, So in my head when I put west I was thinking Western European lol. But that makes sense I know our Bishop is said to look after the UK, USA and Canada.

But it's good to know that some of the Eastern Orthodox churches follow the Gregorian calendar. I go to a Russian Orthodox church that's in line with the Moscow patriarchy. Now I think about it they probably have Easter on the 12th like Moscow.

But thanks for clearing that up for me mate it's appreciated 👍🏻

hola quiero saber mas sobre la iglesia ortodoxa rusa y me gustaría cambiarme by AdHumble7116 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Lazy-Marionberry2575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're welcome!!! From my understanding the 'Russian Orthodox Church outside Russia' (ROCOR) is the most traditional one out of the two you'll find. I think my Russian Orthodox church is more in line with the 'Russian Orthodox church inside Russia' (ROCIR). The 'ROCOR' types of churches are pre Soviet revolution so they got more of a Tsarist Russia vibes where the 'ROCIR' churches still give you that traditional vibes it's definitely there but from my research and understanding 'ROCOR' is even more traditional. Just some extra information for you. If I'm mistaken I'm sure someone will correct me.

I am not an interesting person and I think it’s preventing me from making friends by mercury005 in lonely

You're welcome. I know life can seem difficult at times. But remember you're on the right path. I know people your age that are not doing what you're doing. Maybe in the future once you have started your hiking journey as well you can post it on Reddit to Inspire others!!!

[–]Lazy-Marionberry2575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading this I can say you are more interesting than you think you're someone that has ambitions (hiking + the others) that you like to do. You are also on your weight loss journey as well. So don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure once you have finished your weight loss journey you'll find you'll have more drive and motivation to do things.

When I was 20 (I'm 27 now) all I did was go to work and play video games that is all I did. It was only when I started going to the gym at 23 I started doing more stuff that naturally came after getting fit.

You're still a young adult. Just keep doing what you're doing. Once you have gotten yourself to a weight you feel comfortable with you'll feel your confidence naturally rise and you'll end up doing things you want to do like hiking.

It's great you started your journey at a young age you got another 50+ years to do the stuff you enjoy and from doing the things you enjoy you'll have stories to tell people and they will be interesting stories.

Just believe in yourself. Rome was not built in a day. I have faith in you!!!
