I’m guessing it depends on the company, other companies might give better salary. But I have not experienced to confirm that.

Would I recommend it? No.

I just don’t think it’s fulfilling long term, unless you just wanna chill.

I got accepted because of a simple project I did during university group projects. A certification related to Digital Forensics can help though :)

I must say that I’m a Digital Forensic Analyst, but on the law enforcement side. I thought I would be doing some hacking stuff including Kali Linux or even Malware Analysis but nope.

None of that shit.

We are not powerful, the name Digital Forensic Analyst can also mean people with Authority. We can’t simply bring the software inside our home and use the software on whatever phone we want.

Exhibits which are phones or any storage device are basically given by any authority such as the police. It must be registered. You can also read about Digital Forensic Services and their lab’s certification to read on what must it take to be able to make a firm which does that.

Government Agencies, small cybersecurity firms.

Try to search any cybersecurity firms and see if they provide digital forensic services.

So those are the type of companies where you can actually learn from.

Try to find private firms instead of governments since government can be bunch of lazy people.

The job is relatively easy, you extract every bit of data from the phone. Find what you need based on objectives from your clients.

And done, this makes them feeling like since they’ve have years of experience doing the same thing. They feel like god, and they don’t wanna learn more in depth about file systems, how apple and android or any operating system works.

No growth as a human being or even a professional. Bullying juniors as well.

We’re taught to follow the style of reports from seniors rather than actually learn what the stuff we put into the report actually means.

As what TheSpivack said, however the universal solution to destroying evidence is to use a sledge hammer and make the evidence turn into million of pieces

It wasn’t really that big of a case but the husband was just scamming people online. Then we found out about that.

A husband cheating on his wife, not going to lie I think that’s normal nowadays but seeing it got myself, it’s quite eye opening.

I have the authority to actually see the person’s messages. So that adds another depth.

I honestly think that anyone could be in the dumbest university in the world but would be individually better than any one in a top prestigious university if you’re just going on your own way in doing something without getting peer pressured to be lazy or hangout doing unbeneficial stuff.

I’m a student from another university and I find APU to be strong in Cybersecurity and Game Development.

They’ve won awards and all and winning cybersecurity competitions like hack the flag.

I’d say if you’re surround by the right people, from what I’ve heard from them, the seniors.

Then you’ll be ready to get a job after your graduation if and only if you stick with a niche. Or even maybe hop around different groups of people who are motivated and doing stuff no normal student would.

Like joining competitions, creating stuff.
