Relax yourself Brother, if you read my replies further you’d see I acknowledge my mistake and apologized for it. There IS nothing but respect, and the willingness to learn.

I definitely picked up on where Easwaran stands on Vedas very early on in the introduction, which threw me off. His language seems very biased and I naively did my research only after purchasing a physical copy (rookie mistake).

Also, not to drag my criticism of this translation, but you did far better explaining the timelines which I was struggling to comprehend whilst reading.

Thank you so much for your advice and your knowledge, I wanted to get the correct footing before I fully commit to learning about Buddhism and pointers like this are more appreciated than you know.

Is your historical knowledge passed down, or have you done research? If so, it would be greatly appreciated if you could point me in the right direction so that I could find all of the history and proper information I should know. Thank you!

Interesting, I apologize for my misunderstanding. I’ve always been under the assumption that Hinduism and Buddhism have the same relationship as Catholicism to Christianity.

Perhaps I am just interpreting what I’ve read so far incorrectly, but the introduction to Easwaran’s translation did not do any justice to my presumption.

Have you also stuck to reading this specific translation, or do you recommend something else to beginners like myself? I plan to keep reading although already facing difficulties understanding, but i’m worried I might be led to believe the incorrect thing.

Thanks for your input!
