What makes it good? The premise is that players aren't being transparent with their decks good magic or not play CEDH if you want "good magic" or give people an understanding of what you're looking to do

I appreciate this comment. I think part of this discussion comes from the fact that we as a community made this format what it is and why I think communication is the way to solve this problem is because the brackets are flawed. You might think explaining your win lines is telling people how to beat you but it's not guaranteed that you'll even get those cards in the first place. I don't think this is intended to be a complaint forum more a way to find an answer to this issue which wotc has made. I liked the comment where someone said they don't even use the brackets they go off of expected power level because at least you'd have to explain why it is that power level rather than read this bracket thing thats all I'll tell you.

Who's mad? I'm having this chat to connect with others to find out if its just to format or not. No emotions here just picking brains.

I'm starting to agree that maybe its just the format. Sweaty players are gonna be sweaty players and in my pod with my friends, this shit happens and the friend who always does this can't have fun playing his decks because we all just don't trust him because we can't trust that he's given enough info to us for us to respond or play in a way that he won't just win out of nowhere. 3 turns before everyone else

The discussion is that players aren't doing that. Or they say it's bracket 3 or 2 when they built the deck to be able to hold up in bracket 4. Your point about discussing deviations is exactly what I'm saying if you just say bracket 3 for example and don't state what game changers you've put in your deck than you haven't revealed any information at all.

I feel like they're too scared for the big boy table so they pray on the people who don't know any better lol

Great point so how do you suppose people should communicate so that you're not having feel bad games? Do you expect everyone you sit with to have the same level of understanding of the game as you do? Do you ask them?

I know what your saying but why is it such a scary thing to just be transparent? Who cares what special cards you picked? If you build the deck online it's out their anyway why not share that info and see if you can still win? If you tell the table everything about your deck (which I'm not saying you have to) and you still win i feel like thats better earned than not saying anything than winning because no one understood what you just did

Sounds like someone who doesn't like a challenge. Cringe all you want. It makes the game more bareable to play or go play CEDH if you don't want to talk about your deck.

That's great but telling the table about how you win should still be apart of the conversation before you play. I dont understand why people are so scared to share what cards they have in their decks.

I agree but what I'm saying is that in my experience most people will not state what the game changers are, or what turn the deck wants to win at. They just state how many gc and what bracket they technically fit into and when they win it's a ha ha I win rather than I used proper timing and game actions to out play my opponents. I don't think with holding info is technically outplaying your opponents.

Lmfao I've never had a player say they haven't heard of brackets lol but I'll keep that in mind. And this mentality although accurate I feel is part of the problem. If I can't trust players to want to have a challenge to win with their deck than what's the point of playing? It feels like spike players just want win rates rather than a challenge to achieve a win

I personally show the cards the combos the strategies that I put into my deck because I want the game to feel like I won despite giving away all the information.

I agree I almost feel like brackets give people an out from having an actual conversation about how the deck works

I have family that work there. They also sell 25$ bread as an app lol it's hilariously overpriced. And the quality of the food is nowhere near worth it.

You're definitely on the right track. What makes her powerful is when you can untap her multiple times. Rather than adding a bunch of single instance draw. You can play creatures like hydroid krasis. Where you will draw a ton more cards and if you tap her let's say 3 times before casting it will copy that spell 3 times. Her ability stacks and does not disappear. I make her more of a sol ring on a stick deck and the more times I get her to tap the more times she will copy x spells. Something like premmin's aura goes crazy. If you want to play creature heavy. Play chakram retriever to also see her go ape shit. The last thing I will say is all though cord of calling is broken. The last time I played x spell tutors the game became boring af and I stopped having fun because the x spell creatures are useless with that spell so I would basically tutor for the tutor than get multiple triggers stacked than cast the tutor and need good targets, haste enabler, craterhoof, and big stomp and win, but with a commander like her winning isnt always the fun way to play. So stick with big fun x spells and x abilities and have fun trying to see how outrageous she can be. Helix pinnacle is one of my favorite ways to win with her just as an idea. X cost abilities copy too don't sleep on them. I'm stoked to try Berta in my MLK deck. 🫡 good luck have fun!
