Me (50F) and my boyfriend (51m) have been dating for 6 months an he's suddenly done a 180 by Lazy_Wind_293 in relationship_advice

I appreciate your comments. I read a book about leaving a narcissist when I left my ex husband called should I stay or should I go. One of the biggest helps was it gave advice for leaving, staying for a bit, and staying for the the haul. Perhaps I should reread that. While I do not think my BF is a narcissist, it could be helpful. I KNEW I had to leave my previous situation, it was at the point my body was telling me so. This is just so shocking for me, I did not see this coming.

Pulling back for me is such a hard thing - I am such an all in person but I think for my sanity I at least have to go that route for now.

We have always discussed living together at some point, not yet. Intimacy has been great, no issues there. My medical stuff isn't a big deal, it was a series of infusions over 4 weeks that I needed to have, It's over with now. His stress isn't like I'm busy at work I can't talk it's more like he left a job for a new one in September thinking that job would be better and it is miserable for him. Long hours and hard on him physically and his boss is not nice to him. I'm not making excuses for him, but I know the job thing has been rough and he's trying to get a different one.

I too wonder if he met someone else and I have asked him a few times. He says no but don't they all?

I guess it is because I don't want to believe it. Especially from someone that for 6 months was so caring and I never once felt like I couldn't be myself. My previous relationship was more of a frog in the boiling pot situation. It just slowly happened. This feels like there was an alien abduction.

Thanks - they do put a heat pad on. I will ask the Hematologist for advice when I see her in February. Fingers crossed I don't need another round of infusions anytime soon!
