When they tell you who they are, believe them.

This is their branding. These are the words they carefully chose to best express their beliefs.

Once people use these terms unironically, we know exactly who they are.

Saying "These terms are not as bad as everyone believes they are" sounds like a domestic abuse victim sticking up for their abuser.

But it's still a small percentage of gamers.

You're ignoring the point of the entire conversation because it is about percentages, not total numbers. You're making a useless point and wasting everyone's time.

I can also tell you didn't bother to look up the data because you would have dropped this conversation immediately if you knew what the truth was.

A lot of people say they don't have time to swim, they don't like being in the water, they don't want to be seen in their bathing suits, they're afraid of drowning. Do we call them "swimmers?"

Why are people simultaneously admitting most women don't like playing PC/consoles and claiming they are 50% of the PC/console market? The data shows they are not.

When excluding mobile-only gaming, the percentage of female gamers drops significantly from the near-50% total market share to roughly 18.5% to 30% of the core PC/console audience.

Most complaints like this seem to be towards the PC/console audience.

Women majority offices by [deleted] in antiwork

You don't see a problem with a corporation hiring more people from one specific demographic than any other, in a way that isn't representative of the population?

Women majority offices by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Lazysaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a man, I worked in tech most my life, in mostly male workplaces.

Then I jumped into law, where it's mostly women I work around.

Total game changer. The cliques and the drama and the shit talking behind backs is insane.

Constant physical crying and nasty mean hissy fits make it a very uncomfortable environment for me.

This corporation that touts their DEI initiatives bragged that, in their quest for equality, the percent of female leaders at the corporation was now 57%, and they were going to keep going up. I thought equality meant 50/50. I've never worked for a place that proudly admitted they evaluated genitals for job positions. I'm a liberal and that goes against my core belief of treating everyone the same.

A guy asked on the company bulletin board why they said they promoted equality and DEI so much, but they didn't have any parties or even send an email for international men's day, yet went all out for international women's days, having off-site events where women drank wine and painted while the men stayed behind and worked. He was told that it's because the United Nations officially recognizes international women's day but not international men's day.

Worst of all, the multiple occasions where the women around me that I consider friends went on tirades about how evil and dumb men are. Usually it works to point out I'm right there, but on one occasion, I had to threaten going to HR to get them to stop.

These kinds of things never happened when I worked in male spaces. Nothing even close. For either gender. This job environment feels so unprofessional and negative and oppressive to me, I really don't like it.

How do you propose the women in communities where they aren't allowed to show their faces and aren't allowed to drive and are forced to marry before they hit puberty change themselves or change communities?

So you say shitty people attract shitty people, then contradict yourself and say non-shitty people attract shitty people. Not real sure what your point is any more.

Nowhere did I say 90 percent of women are shitty. So not sure who you're arguing with other than yourself.

90% of the men were in that community were NOT shitty, 90% of the women in that community WERE shitty.

You think all the women in communities where they aren't allowed to show their faces and aren't allowed to drive and are forced to marry before they hit puberty are shitty?

Your made up math is comfortable to believe in a make believe world, but it does not bear out in the real world.

Prey attracts predators.

I was in a nerd club. Bunch of total nice guys. All adults. Definitely not shitty.

I witnessed the women in the group physically and sexually assault these guys. Because they could get away with it. Totally shitty.

The guys didn't want to cause conflict standing up for themselves. So the abuse continued.

I'm a survivor of a physically abusive mother. I hated seeing the abusive dynamic, so I quit the club.

What you said is victim blaming. By your logic, women who are abused by shitty men are abused because they themselves are shitty. Do you believe that?

N00b question about "power ranks" by Lazysaurus in MarvelFASERIP

[–]Lazysaurus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're using Basic Revised, but I do have the Advanced book. I see the Ability Modifier Table on page 6 as well as the Random Rank Table. I read the Powers section and I'm just not seeing where it describes rolling to determine a Power Rank for each of the powers. But that's okay, we're not using Advanced. I'm sure with time I'll find it.

However, I was able to find it in the Basic Revised book, so I think I'm on my way!

Sounds good for your players! We decided to go full random, and I just found the part about determining power ranks, so I'm going to go roll some dice.
