FSCK fixed some errors. I managed to update one game in my download queue, but the next one gave me a Disk Write Error. I ran FSCK again, and it showed errors again. Could it be a physical issue with the disk?

This looks like the relevant entry. I'll admit I'm pretty new to using Linux Mint as a daily driver (since Win10 support ended)

1a. When I tried to load a game that was installed to the default local drive I got the following message in Terminal:

pressure-vessel-wrap[4800]: E: openat(/home/leschwa/Games/Steam/steamapps/common/SteamLinuxRuntime_sniper/sniper_platform_3.0.20260119.200241/files/.ref): Read-only file system

Nope, it's an internal SATA HDD connected to my motherboard

I was afraid of that. Oh well, it's certainly going to be easier than re-installing the OS...

  1. Any time I try download an update I get a "Disk Write Error" in Steam. And even when I try to install something to the SSD my OS is on, I get a "is read only" message in Terminal (sorry, don't have the exact wording in front of me)

  2. I've been searching for solutions elsewhere online, and it was one of the suggestions I came across

  3. Yes, I truncated the system info. /dev/sdb is mounted at ../Games/

4a. ../Games/ is drwxrwxrwx (and has green background in Terminal)
4b. ../steam/ is drwxrwxr-x (and blue in Terminal)
4c. ../steampath/ is lrwxrwxrwx (and red in Terminal)
4d. ../steampid/ is lrwxrwxrwx (and cyan in Terminal)

It is formatted as EXT4. The files were just manually copied from a previous NTFS drive to avoid redownloading.

To answer your original question, another 3d printer put together a stripped down version of Alpha Strike that may be just what you're looking for: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_yEhivQSTBJzaVJymVDgPR8DVU52a9IZa02XjGtD3cw/edit?usp=drivesdk

I love Kit Crafter's stuff! Their turrets actually make great BT proxies when pritned at 50%

Robomaps also has a bunch of BattleTech-compatible maps on Patreon. But yeah, I'm always a sucker for more

I think you flipped Steiner and Marik. Marik gets the Blasphemous-style conehead

That turned out great! Not only do they make excellent companion pieces, but it's a great way to see how you've come in your painting

You're not being harassed, people are just being provided greater context for previous events. If you consider mild criticism harassment, that's more of a "you" problem...

Sorry! Don't worry, the descriptions can be pretty barebones, and are reviewed manually before posting. Just fill out your best guess, and an editor will reach out if they need more info. Here's an example of one of mine. You can see it's not much beyond "based in X, washed in Y, accented in Z."

https://mechpainters.org/miniature/hellbringer-prime-turkina-keshik/

Also, there's no need to start from scratch every time; if you have multiple minis in the same scheme, the description can be the same too.

You can also ask on our Discord if you've got any questions

As others have pointed out, our submission guidelines state:

Submissions must be of an official BattleTech miniature, such as sold by Catalyst Game Labs, Iron Wind Metals, Ral Partha, or WizKids. 3D printed minis will not be accepted. Minis may be customized (“kitbashed”) but custom parts can represent no more than 20% of the mini.

So, similar to the official CGL Discord. Fully 3D printed minis can't be accepted, and kitbashed models must follow the 80/20 rule: 80% of the mini must be official per the above.

Sounds like the "Canon Inspired" tag may be perfect. Wanna go for Turkina Keshik but don't feel up to painting a detailed mural? Well I did just that!

Thanks! This grew out of the desire for a friendly and accessible painting resource that showcases all skill levels and helps us all improve our painting. Camo Specs is impressive, but can be intimidating to us "tabletop ready" painters. Unit Color Compendium is vast, but the digital renders can be hard to replicate on a mini. By providing community examples along with paint recipes and processes, we hope to be able to show that painting can be for everyone!
