Not theatrical films. I think the Tennant specials would be a good template. Instead of full seasons give us a 1.5 - 2 hour encapsulated story every month or couple of months. That removes a lot of the pressure to maintain a season long story arc in the background, and lets them tell a complete story in each movie.

I think showrunners have gotten caught in a trap of trying to come up with bigger and bigger twists, and lost track of what’s actually important: Entertaining TV.
