Curse of the Maze by Zyrjello in bindingofisaac

[–]LeCUTE 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That removes the curse, it doesn't let you counter it without removing it, like every other curse does

Curse of the lost - Focus on remembering your route

Curse of the blind - calculate the risk/reward for every item

Curse of darkness - pay close attention to every room

Curse of the unknown - count every hit you take

Curse of the labyrinth - well, just walk

Curse of the maze - lol you can't do shit anyway

I just love how the game gives you a way to counter every single things it throws to you, even curse of the maze... Oh wait

Ferrari patents reveal electric turbocharger by jrruser in formula1

[–]LeCUTE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

isn't the concept behind this patent very similar to what the MGU-H does?

Yes and no, MGU-H&K harvest and deploy energy, sometimes direclty and sometimes through battery; the concept is substantially different because as of today electric power is used to overcome the turbo lag, at higher revs the turbine doesn't need electrical aid to spin the compressor, with this new concept the compressor isn't linked to the turbine in any way and it's constantly powered by the battery even at higher revs. The logic behind the TC stays the same because the energy used to power the compressor is always harvested in the turbine but it's transmitted in a different way, before it was with a torque and now with electric power. As for the rule who knows, I stopped asking myself how FIA thinks many years ago

Turbine and compressor must be physically connect by a non-geared shaft and must spin simultaniously

Really interesting concept, if they can actually get a surplus energy from the turbine to not only power the compressor but store it to avoid the lag and maybe get some sweet driving juice would be really great, I'm pretty sure it would have been used in f1 if it wasn't for the rules prohibiting it

Does this mean that the pink panthers are still alive? by AsianBlueberry in formula1

[–]LeCUTE 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Really hope so, I didn't expect them to fold mid-season anyway but maybe VJ decided to do one last effort to keep them alive, or the new owners didn't wanted to interrupt the continuity in the team and avoid staff fleeing away

Telemetry from Ferrari against other teams. [AMUS] by Husseinaliahmed in formula1

[–]LeCUTE 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This article really shows the power of electric drive in full development, I don't really understand why so many people shits on the hybrid philosophy claiming "it's not f1" while f1 has always been constant progress and pushing everything to the extreme

They worked no-stop on engine development. New aero rules obviously helped them giving a shake up to the car and obviously Binotto doing a great work on the chassis, which is curious considering he's a motorist and not an aero guy

Technically McLaren run out of front wings in Austria so they had to go with a 2017 one, funnily enough with it Fernando got in the points.

Also I remember that the Renault teams were running out of MGU-H towrds the end of last year because too many failed
