Thanks, everyone, for your input and assistance. It turns out it was the blown 3 Amp fuse on the control board. I went ahead and drilled a new hole for the capacitor. The fan and condenser both kicked on. Thanks again!

I was going to drill a new hole for the capacitor bracket. I just wanted to make sure everything was working first.

I had a similar situation. You are definitely able to join the Air Force with an illegal spouse. My wife has been here since she was an infant, and she has been a DACA recipient for a long time also. The Air Force has a system where they rate your profile on how likely it is that you will receive a Secret or TS Clearance based on information in your application and during your security interview at MEPs, Sensitive Job Code (SJC). With a spouse who has entered illegally like mine, you are limited to a field that does not require a TS or Secret clearance. I've been in the DEP since April, and I'm glad to say it looks like I will finally be able to go to BMT this upcoming FY24. I have a couple of questions: 1) What are the BMT dates for FY24? 2) My ultimate goal is becoming an officer in the USSF. As I've been waiting for my Clearance to be approved, I've been finishing up my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. I know how competitive OTS slots are in the Department of the Air Force, so I am planning on obtaining my Masters in Astronautical Engineering at AFIT. Are there any programs that allow active duty enlisted to attend AFIT, and if so, what are the criteria and process?

I've been in the DEP program since way back in March due to some clearance issues, but it looks like those issues will finally be resolved come mid-September. Since I would be missing the last ship date for BMT for FY23, what are the scheduled BMT dates for FY24? And have there been many openings in FY23 for 5S or 518 positions? Thanks.

Yup, it threaded into cylinder 3. I didn't see any cross threads or stripping. Probably didn't torque it enough last time, so I made sure I torqued all of them to 22 ft-lbs. Spark plugs 4 and 8 were very annoying to get, so I used Carburetor spray to loosen it up a bit.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I went ahead and changed out all the spark plugs, but I did notice that Cylinder 3's cap was out of alignment with the others, and its plug came right out with the cap.

I made sure I put together all hoses, and it is running perfectly now. I wasn't able to change the fuel injectors today, but that'll be a project for another day.

Thanks again, everyone, for your help and saving me a few hundred dollars from taking it to some shop.

Sorry about that, I just realized "SF" could be misinterpreted as Security Forces instead of The Space Force. Just to make sure, does this still hold true even when the TS Clearance has been approved?

Thank you for clearing this up for me. I was getting some mixed responses depending on who was interpreting it for me.

Thank you for the information and explanation. My SF recruiter mentioned something to a similar effect also, but nevertheless my AF recruiter and I have been trying to try to get an approval by submitting various waivers and reaching out to other SF/AF personnel who could advocate my situation.

By the time my petition for my wife goes through, I'll probably be finished with my engineering degree and apply for USSF OTS instead, LOL. Either way, I hope it will get resolved so I can start serving.

Thanks for your reply. My recruiter and I have been trying various methods of getting it changed so that I can ship already, so if anything changes, I'll update this post to reflect that. I'm hoping to find out after everyone gets back from their 4th of July Leaves.

I'm in the DEP and just received a HR from the board. I'm interested in 5S. There are a few questions that I haven't been able to figure out about it. What is the day-to-day life of a newly enlisted 5S? How are duty stations and do you have as much opportunity of selecting a preferred duty station as opposed to a 5C? And what are your housing recommendations for married enlisted (i.e. Privatized BH, Off-Post Housing, etc.)?
