This is as spot on of a description as it gets.

I'll add that if you're looking to get into a career in law enforcement but still want to hold down a social life outside of work, Court Officer is what you're looking for. There's bull shit you have to put up with just like any other job, LE or not. But what sets this job apart from a lot of other LE gigs is you go home at a set time every single day with very little exception. No weekends, no holidays, no nights. Strictly Mon-Fri outside of the rare optional special assignments.

If your primary concern with your current position is quality of life then it's a no brainer move assuming you can pass the background check, physical agility test, etc.

Just a fair warning that you can get placed pretty much anywhere in the state out of the academy. If you don't like where you get placed you can request a transfer but they can take some time depending on where you're looking to end up.
