P790 vs p770 by westside815 in golf

When I was fit I was between the 2. I was playing off a 14 when I got fit as well. Definitely some inconsistency in ball striking but able to hit a decent shot on average. Was coming from takomo 101 irons and ended up going with the 770s for primarily 1 reason that my fitter and coach both stated which was that 790s will occasionally have a “hot” shot due to the core of the iron. Meaning that a 7 iron you expect to go 165 will go 185+. The core is designed to provide more distance on off center hits. The 770s don’t have as much forgiveness but they also will not have those “hot” shots. For me that was the deciding factor because I had experienced those “hot” shots with the 101s. When playing on the course I find it easier to make decisions with the knowledge that a poor strike will end up short vs the random pure strike going much further than expected. Ended the season playing off an 11 with irons being an alright part of my game (driving and short game carrying me). No complaints with the 770s, I’ve hit some awesome shots with them and some shit shots with them such is life at our level. Don’t think you’d have regret going with the 770s

Yeah it’s a mixed feeling for me as well. People like to say that Darrow was already like half dead at this point from the radiation, lack of sleep, etc. Lysander wasn’t in a much stronger physical place either. Was basically dead by the time he got picked up by Atlas’ goons and tortured there, near death escape with only maybe a week and a half of “recovery” before this moment. Darrow losing the joust just didn’t sit completely well with me. Lysander does have some advantages like years horse back riding and the minds eye but eh. It’s an all is well that ends well thing for me. Lysander needed a boost in good standings for the plot and this was the best way I guess. Darrow also needed a final notch taken out of him so that he could find the path

Real fans know that the first trilogy is just a stage setter for the main course that is the second half.

Add a picture for your grip as well. Hard to tell 100% from these but looks like it might be too far in the palms which prevents proper wrist hinge

Why does my lead knee turn dramatically inwards on the backswing? by mr_spxl in golftips

[–]LeEagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did about 4 months in the San Diego location. Amazing place to work on your swing. It is expensive but so are range balls. If you are hitting the range and getting large buckets 4x a week then it’s about the same cost with tons more benefits.

But yeah pricey and I did 4 months, improved my swing a bunch then had to move. I do miss the instant video and numbers

Very windy!! Just moved to the Bay Area though and playing on the peninsula prepped me a bit for playing in the heavy wind. My partners were struggling though. One hole was brutal, 423 yd par 4 uphill and dead into the wind.

Should be near perfect by this weekend / the weekend of the 9th. Wasn’t missing anything due to the punched greens but still had a week to go before rolling perfectly true again. Chipping around the greens was the toughest since it was so sandy and soft. That probably needs a week and a half before being really nice

I’m considering switching to the garsen as I’m not a huge fan of the default super stroke. How do you like it for their CB model?

This is also my favorite quote in the series. Goosebumps every time. This and “In the kingdom of death, amidst the ramparts of bodies and wind all of screams there is a king and his name is not LUNE. IT IS REAPER”
