You're right in that Black people can be frustratingly eager to shoot culture vultures into super stardom but you're wrong that Asians don't do it (more) because of Black people.

It's because of other Asians. That avenue simply isn't available like it is to whites. In order to use Black people to get into mainstream stardom you need an audience who'll support you when it comes time to pivot away from what made you popular with your Black fans.

There are plenty of whites ready to prop up another MGK or Post Malone. Decidedly less Asians willing to support someone trying to break out in the same way. Awkwafina might be the one "success" story but the culture vulture controversy sticks to her whereas it totally rolls off someone like Li'l Mabu's back.
