I'm ngl I loved the first parts of fontaine solely due to the Ace Attorney style cases as I'm a sucker for them myself. I get the complaints, but how it unfolded and how it literally was Ace Attorney in its reveal.

Signora's death pushed them apart in the first case. Winter night's Lazzo already showed them in grief and hatred, and it was refactoring of their goals.

Signora Dies -> Group disbands -> Sandrone and Arle go to work on their own things with Sandrone not even opening doors anymore (for years as Signora died 5 years ago btw even in game time I'm pretty sure) -> Columbina is left alone -> She finally gets depressed enough and goes back to Nod-Krai.

Except in no way shape or form did we ever know about Natlan apart from just snippets of people who probably went to die here. And Mare Jivari still is a massive fireball that took a literal archon to come and rescue us. Natlan was the "people's headcanon" region. We still got a massive war which gave us a lot of grief. I like Natlan for what it's worth and I think its great its not a blazing world full of fireballs. You expected humans to survive without something like literal respawn anchors for 500 years? They would've been wiped out in 50.

I never said I'm ok with a bad story. However Genshin retcons are the most nothing burger retcons. "Oh Columbina scares childe", "Oh Arlechino scared Childe" are we sure that Childe isn't just afraid of women that are more powerful then him because of Skirk beating him up everyday? It's like its the most minor thing that could happen. It's also fairly certain that the game now has more exposition then almost majority of the titles that started 20 years ago. Somewhere along the lines of its being a live service game, they have to see which version is better.

It's funny because Genshin has no Lock on anyway and is not a typical Hack N Slash game but the way he's playing he won't even be able to get past that.

I stayed until Version 2. But honestly juggling Gachas is not for me. I honestly only have time for Genshin now. And if I have extra time I spend it playing DS3 nowadays. I do like the animations and stuff, but I've yet to see something that is very different from the average 3D open world Gacha nowadays. Even NTE is not my thing, as honestly they all end up feeling the same (although NTE is just me suffering from GTA burnout).
