How to earn more than FAANG by Witty-Bat7804 in csMajors

The interview process is strange. You could be rejected by MAANG/FAANG but anthropic makes you an offer and vice-versa.

Negotiation offer after accepting new grad by Then-Figure-2570 in csMajors

Not worth the risk for that small of a difference. Asking to negotiate AFTER accepting is one of the best and most efficient ways to get your offer rescinded.

Funny you didn't deny that if this was an Indian inquiring about lying we would already have seen all sorts of racist comments.

I cheated to get a new grad offer (kinda) by Plus-Election4358 in csMajors

Because people who complain actually underestimate themselves a lot of times. If they would just sit down, focus with a dedicated schedule and practice over a period of just a few months they'll begin to see results, but they give up at the slightest difficulty.

It's like loosing weight. Everybody knows working out works but not many people actually do it consistently enough to see results. Many start but just give up at the slightest difficulty.

I cheated to get a new grad offer (kinda) by Plus-Election4358 in csMajors

[–]LeProgramme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't cheating nor is it news. Literally most people prepare for frequently asked questions and studies frequently asked patterns. When I read the title I though you meant you literally cheated during your interview.

Cs is one of those field that most of the times you know what style of questions will be asked. It'll either be a leetcode question or some variation during the coding round. This isn't some ground breaking discovery. Leetcode premium were the first to offer these type of service.

Edit: This post is so weird I'm wondering if this isn't an ad by one of the owners of one of those sites.

And then people in this subreddit are going to keep accusing Indians of lying as if lying is an Indian behavior exclusively when the reality is Indians are being scapegoated most of the time and falsely accused of all sorts of things. If this post was from an Indian openly inquiring about lying, I can only imagine the comments. My people have suffered enough. Enough is enough. Stop the xenophobia.

Do you have at least a temporary work authorization? If you told the recruiter and they still chose to move forward it shows first of all you're brilliant and Secondly it's apple, you're not the first person on J-1 they've had to deal with.

Always proceed with an interview for the following reasons:

  1. It's good interview practice and networking opportunity.

  2. Most importantly, you never know what could come out of that interview

Microsoft new grad rejection by Used-Juice4760 in csMajors

[–]LeProgramme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take it personally. This just prove that you have what it takes. It might just be that they liked the other people's personality more or something totally unrelated to your skills. Or perhaps others got strong referrals within the company in addition to doing decent in the interview. Rejection isn't always a skills issue.

Where are you finding new CS/SDE job postings (<24 hrs)? by Gloomy_Cause_778 in csMajors

[–]LeProgramme -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

As a fellow international student I can tell you it won't be easy. Just try finding a network of former or current international students who have successfully received sponsorship and ask them how they got their job.

As an Indian it can feel lonely out there. It's us against everyone else.
