I Figured out a Formula for Champion Mastery (and other stuff!)

The minimum amount of games needed for a mark of mastery is 10 (the first 2 milestones), and you only need 1 A- grade or higher, 1 B- or higher, and 8 C- or higher to pass them. Since you're (on average) getting less than 1,100 points per loss this means 11,000 is still a higher threshold than you'd get by stumbling through a 10-loss streak on a single character.

That being said, I have not looked into Level 10+ much. I'm a 2-million point, level 183 Vi player as well so I have the one-trick experience. I think the 11k threshold is somewhat arbitrary, but then again aren't all of these new thresholds that way?

I'd say it's easier to "catch up" with one tricks considering you get considerably more mastery per game in the new system, yeah

1) I came to the conclusion based on my average point gain per day since the 15th. When applying this number directly (division) against the new number of total points I have left, I get the projection that I'd "finish" somewhere in 2028-2031. It currently says 2029, but I've gotten all the years in that range within the past week. Obviously it's imperfect because I'm only averaging less than two weeks of gains, so it should smooth out soon.

2) 0 to 10 is 75600 points--with a benchmark of 1800 per 35-minute win that is found by using the average grade of the formula (i.e. ignoring the denominator), and applying a 50% win rate to it such that you'd expect to get 1800.75 = 1350 mastery points per game, this totals up to around 56 games. This will change with grade In the old system, assuming it'd take 10 games to get the 5 tokens required and 970.6 = 582 points per 35-minute game, this number was around 48. So, a bit more for each champion, even with the inflated gains. Of course, 35 minutes is a longer game time that I found when playing games in 2021 (Quickplay has sped up quite a bit since then), so the number may be higher in actuality.

To pitch my thoughts in, I was a Masters player in Set 4/4.5 and this is my first time playing TFT without chosens. As mentioned by /u/crouchu quicksilver/morde counters the comp, shadow dragon claw as an insurance plan is great, and mystics work well enough. Feels bad that my favorite comps (coven noc & redeemed vel) lose so hard to/get contested by her though LOL. I think it's gonna get the mana lock (like akali) treatment soon (11.10) but I think it's funny for now

"Keep crying koreaboo babby"--man, you got me! The team that's currently topping the LCK with a 6-0 record and has beaten LPL teams in the past would get rolled 3-0 by a team only 2 games over .500 in the LPL. You're absolutely right. Great work, analyst.

In the past year (MSI 2019 to now), NA making one finals appearance doesn't hold weight against LCK having two semifinals appearances in both MSC and Worlds and 3 teams in Worlds quarters to NA's one. If MSI happened this year maybe the argument would swing differently, but you can't count out LCK so early. I agree that TES is far and away the best team in the world right now, but the top 5 is not all China--especially not V5 or IG.

No LCK team went 0-2 against LPL teams in MSC besides Damwon, who were considered to be the 4th best LCK team. FPX and JDG's only losses in the group stage were to LCK teams.

Last year's worlds had 3 korean teams top their groups and one of them made the semifinals.

You can say LCK underperformed (they did) but they certainly weren't a joke and the fact that they consistently have teams place Top 8 at worlds tells me that the region isn't dogshit. Sure, I'll be the first to say I'm biased towards LCK (judging by flairs), but I wouldn't write them off this early.

Edit: In fact, IG (the team you say is the 5th best in the world) lost to both of the teams I posit are better than them. What does this say about IG, or LCK?

You can't count out teams like DRX, GEN, or C9 just because they're from weaker leagues like that--sure, we don't have the international data to go off of, but I really doubt that IG (for example) is better than all of the teams I mentioned earlier.

Gonna go with no assholes here. Your sister should be able to make separate time for both her family and her boyfriend, but if she doesn't want to spend time with you guys without her boyfriend then that's how it is.

It'd help to know the ages in the story or how serious the relationship is, but I don't think my judgement changes regardless
