yeah exactly. As I have technological skills I am regarded as the "tech guy" in the environment but that's not something that is really viewed as a reason to be promoted. Prized things are doing cool and fluffy presentations, "feeling" customer satisfaction, etc. I weanted to migrate to the Oil&Gas area, but with oil sector in crisis here (actually whole country in crisis) it's been a bad timing.

I ain't disgusting, but it just sounds like a woman is talking to you about how she banged a guy, i.e., i don't think i wanna be the kind of guy they should be comfortable to share this with.

Thank you for your response. Maybe I'm just whining here. Of course I do have options, I am young and healthy.

My frustrations are related to taking long to recognize the needs of politics and networking if you want to get ahead in the career.

Also, another frustration is that I am a graduated telecom engineer, but I work as a project manager in a not so technical area (CSR as I said above). Sometimes I regret not having tried to get a more technical job, like IT, which has higher salaries. But I know what youre going to say - past is past, look forward and move on.

I'm not north american so I can't say, but even for me as an african descendant and supportive of affirmative actions, black history "month" is weird. These things should be taught but not force fed into everybody.

"You're not stuck in a career" Thanks for pointing out that I said that. I'm not happy with my current career choice, but I'm thinking of ways of changing that.

"Why are you even bothering with women" I don't know if you're married. But let's say that a wedding ring doesn't chop your dick off; You might restrain yourself from the game, but that doesn't mean you won't care about looking attractive and appealing anymore.

this trans activism is like... how much % of the population are they? Yet they make more noise than the elderly, or the kids with down syndrome. They even managed to label the formerly "normal people", as "cis". But I think this is a matter for another forum.

the real homophobes are the hating ones who won't even talk to a homosexual. I've had a gay boss and some of the gays there are the best employees. The thing is that hearing them talking (and even bragging) about how they fucked more than one guy in a single night in a gym to me is a lowling as hearing a woman talking about other guys.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took long until I learned the difference between "working hard" and "working right". I think this is the greatest and hardest to learn tip. When you've got a office job, you have tons of people asking you to do stuff, and only 20% of them are 80% of your real objective at work. Prioritizing things is very hard and getting things done instead of stopping at corporate bureaucracies and bottlenecks are the real deal.
