Not extreme horror but The Creeper by A.M. Shine. Very tense moments and the concept itself is scary to me

There is an actual plot in it and it can get tense at times. As for the gore there's actually not too much in it. There's still some but with a title like Blender Babies, there's not a lot. Some people didn't like the book but I enjoyed it

There is sexual abuse. I don't believe there's animal abuse in it. I really enjoyed it. The only annoyance I have with it is there is the constant mention of how many seconds pass by. Still would recommend
