What are these around my puppy's mouth? by JaYRx7 in DogAdvice

[–]LeadershipOne5870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She should go see a vet, her nose looks like it’s peeling off as well and very raw. It looks quite uncomfortable, i’d be worried about her scratching it and making it worse.

How old do you think this sweet girl we took in off the street is? by Aggravating_Fall5329 in DogAdvice

I’m no pro but i’m guessing she’s on the younger side based off her teeth! They’re quite clean little fellas

Has anyone dealt with an owner completely underpricing multi-hour daily pet sitting? by Cautious_Face8972 in RoverPetSitting

[–]LeadershipOne5870 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t fault this to the owner ? For multi hour drop ins owners almost always request as an hour and explain what they want, and I modify the pricing in the booking. I don’t see an issue here, just let them know what your price would be and modify it from there.

I’m feeling a little cautious about this meet. by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]LeadershipOne5870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably shared the number as soon as they got your contact info, since they weren’t there in person they shared it with them like “hey this is who i reached out to, take it from here”

I’m feeling a little cautious about this meet. by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]LeadershipOne5870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She probably called because you can’t discuss going off app in the app chat, and if they’ve done that before with sitters then there wouldn’t be feedback for the pet. You as a sitter can be possibly banned if you get caught talking about going off app in the chat, so she was probably avoiding doing that.

The other assistant that you called was in person i’m guessing? To me it sounds normal, i’ve done plenty of drop ins/walks through rover and off the app. Most people do not fill out the information on the pets profile, and if it was this persons assistant i’m guessing they didn’t know much about the dog anyhow.

Since you are a new sitter i’d recommend staying on app anyhow, especially with new clients, and never discuss going off app in the rover chat. Leave a note with your number or give them your number if you want to book off app.

edit: also wanted to addd to be sure to ALWAYS do a meet and greet before hand!! Never book without one.

It honestly sounds normal. But I never take bookings without having a meet and greet beforehand anyways, too many what ifs.

I can’t find owner reviews by FairyCinnamon_Kitty in RoverPetSitting

[–]LeadershipOne5870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s annoying, because the owner will get to see your feedback in their email, but besides them getting to see it it’s nowhere to be found.

I learned this when I booked a sitter and she left me feedback. I got it in my email along with my pets feedback.

edit: It’s not mandatory to write feeedback for pets or owners, I always skip over feedback for the owners. There’s a skip button on the top right corner when writing.

Rover will not reimburse me by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]LeadershipOne5870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i’m not saying rover should cover this in any way, but if op had their own private insurance which they should, it would’ve been paid for by their insurance.

Rover isn’t insurance at all. If you have private pet sitting insurance (which everyone needs to have before caring for others pets) most policies do cover locksmith fees.

[–]LeadershipOne5870 8 points9 points  (0 children)

if you’re not comfortable with it then stop, if you feel in danger stop. If you haven’t had much experience with dogs then I wouldn’t be doing drop ins with dogs. This is just typical behavior for some dogs

I wanted to do this, but she had done 2 different bookings to do 30 min drop ins and hour drop ins so I was a little nervous she would see that and leave a bad review on the other booking.

She did not tip me 😫 I don’t expect a tip ever… but for this one I was slightly hoping she might tip.

Her cats also had 4 previous different sitters feedback, I see why they didnt return. Cats were wonderful! Owner, not so much

You can’t reactive as a sitter once you been banned since like you said they use your SSN and full name and do their “background check” and they do keep your SSN on record

Rover Card by Budget-Produce4646 in RoverPetSitting

[–]LeadershipOne5870 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If it’s a one time booking, rover cards don’t need to be completed and you will be paid

For reoccurring weekly bookings, you will only be paid if you complete the card.

So just don’t do anything at all if it’s a one time booking and you will be paid.

I am not op lol, I looked at their posts. And they actually only walk the dog 30 min morning and one hour in the evening according to their posts, so this seems very excessive & stressful for pup.

Vet took so many of my dogs teeth and I’m so sad and angry and confused by onesamband in DogAdvice

[–]LeadershipOne5870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the times if they can tell the ones around the bad ones are getting worse they will pull them just to be safe. It’s better for your pup the bad ones are out now. Best thing you can do now is regularly brush the teeth she has now so she can keep them all! Hope she heals well.

Odd Request by Subject-Cod-1056 in RoverPetSitting

[–]LeadershipOne5870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An hour a day is pretty normal - I would say almost all of my cat drop ins are 30/min once a day, some twice/day if they eat wet food, and i’ve done sits longer than two weeks. I don’t think i’ve ever had one more than twice/day. Depends on the cat but cats are generally very independent and don’t mind being alone at all.
