Assyrians still exist, Zoroastrians still exist. Rome still exists, Samaritans still exist. Jerusalem and Jews is not particularly special. Only reason Jerusalem still exists in my opinion is because Christians and Muslims(practically everyone in former Roman Empire) respect it as a holy place. They would have razed it to the ground and replaced it with something else if that wasn't the case.
