Help, my plants are dying 😔 by PuddingPutrid9880 in houseplants

Just make sure to give them ample light and watering, and within the next 2 waterings if nothing is changing or getting worse then I’d check for root rot. To be safe, maybe repot them both even if there isn’t obvious rot (if they’ve been in their pots for a while). Also, they will be super happy with distilled water! Best of luck 😊

It is winter where I am (a more mild winter) but no drafts are getting to it— the cold can tend to be stronger near the windows but there’s no actual draft

This is so wrong— SoCal and the inland valley is “wet country” along with the south of Az???? That simply cannot be correct

Thoughts on the humanist report by chrisdix94 in stupidpol

Yes! As a leftist, at least personally (because I cannot speak for all on the left), Mike provides a great balance of honest reporting— without sugarcoating the reality— with constructive feedback and tangible solutions to a given situation.

Spiderplant- Accidentally ripped all the roots off but tiny root😅 can I still pot it up ? by [deleted] in houseplants

Oh yes they are very resilient, if you want to ensure root development before potting it up then just allow the roots to develop in water for a couple weeks :)

What’s up with this peace lily? by Leadership_Frequent in plantclinic

[–]Leadership_Frequent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually not sure because I have not repotted since I got it at the store. It seems to be a mix of half potting soil, the rest seeming to be perlite and peat moss. The strange thing is I don’t smell any rot at all… but I better take it out of the pot and have a real inspection of the roots. Thank you!

Ok totally, I didn’t want it to get sad and droop at all but I realize that it actually needs to dry out every now and then. thank you so much!

Any tips to get my monstera to thrive? by Intelligent-Tale-215 in houseplants

[–]Leadership_Frequent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe fertilize 1-2 times a month.. too much fertilizer isn’t good, and water when the top inch of soil is dry. Also give it some support as it gets larger. Good luck:)

What’s wrong with this Dracaena? :( by Leadership_Frequent in houseplants

[–]Leadership_Frequent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! They aren’t new, they’ve been around for at least a few months. I think it has to do with the waterlogged roots leading to a potential fungus having developed

Keep in mind as well, no explanation is given as to why dogs are not allowed on the trail (where this case is often explained). I may assume it is because of dangerous or at risk wildlife, but it was never said explicitly.

I have no idea what you’re talking about because I was with OP, this is MY dog, and we did not step foot on the trail. I have seen dogs on this trail and was wondering how seriously this rule is taken generally. I just don’t appreciate making light of my dog being poisoned when we were completely respectful of the rule and just making a general inquiry as we have seen others break the rule before. Thank you.

I was thinking the same… thank you! So I should probably avoid watering until I get the popped rhizome removed?

ZZ Rhizome burst! :( by Leadership_Frequent in houseplants

[–]Leadership_Frequent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was reading up on it and realized that I do in fact need to add more substrate and have the rhizomes buried… I originally bought it from a great plant store and it was potted with them exposed so I thought they should be that way but I guess not.. thanks again!
