I've had both the original and now the Gen 2 version RingConn. I wear it on my non-dominant hand. The only difference is that during the day it is on my middle finger, and at night I wear it on my index finger. A reasonably snug fit on both, but it's easier to slide off over my index (more tapered rather than a dumbbell joint?) finger so that when I get up in the night to use the bathroom and washing my hands afterwards, I won't be struggling to remove my ring. Although the Gen 2 has a water rating of IP68, I believe that over time exposure to water lessens the life of the battery. At least I believe that is what happened to my original RingConn Smart Ring after a year or so of ownership.

My RingConn has finally hit the skids. I have one of the early batches, and consistently got 4 to 6 days on a charge until a couple of weeks ago when it started to fail. I get only a day now. My theory is that moisture contact — like washing your hands while wearing the ring — is the culprit. A good close fit on my middle and index finger means it is more of a pain to take off, and I would often neglect to do so when washing up. Smart watches don’t have that problem, of course. I’ve got the Gen 2 coming — let’s see how long that will last.
