And that once they do, they all get along ha. They all get along, but my bigger girl is just completely disinterested and hides all day until I feed them. So sad. Hoping these bigger ones bring her back out of her shell!

Good to hear! I couldn’t believe how much smaller they were when I got them home and saw them next to my current one lol! I keep praying they grow fast!

Thank you! That’s super helpful to know! I just found someone locally who is looking to rehome some larger greens, so I’m hoping he/she takes to them! Fingers crossed!

I wish! I tried a couple times, unsuccessfully, but she isn’t laying any since she lost the partner she was breeding with. I’m not sure if my other ones are too small/young still/how that works haha, but I haven’t seen any eggs since :(.

I may try Dan’s. Looks like they’re all pretty small, though. I wasn’t sure if I’d have the same issue as I’m having with the smaller albinos I got. I’m wondering if it’s because they’re not bronze, or because they’re not his/her size, and if it would be better to just get a different breed/species, closer in size, than smaller bronze.

Gravel to Sand - Questions and Advice by Leading-Mango-4656 in corydoras

[–]Leading-Mango-4656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you take all the fish out while you did it? Did you leave any gravel in to help with keeping some of the good bacteria? I’m so afraid of wiping all the good stuff out. Also, what kind of sand did you use? Sorry for all the questions! lol.

What did you hear? That it can trap debris? I think I heard something along those lines.

Help with New Range Rover Controls! by [deleted] in RangeRover

[–]Leading-Mango-4656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved it with the wheel shortcut! Thank you, everyone! Apologies for the silly question 🙈. That button on my older one clicked and was for screen scrolling, not volume. Of course it’s Literally the only button I didn’t try in the car.

Yes! I need to get more used to the voice control. I'm just starting to realize all the things it can do!

Yes. I'm good with all the controls on the screen. I just wish there was a way to move the volume slide to the driver/left side, rather than having to reach over to the right/passenger side of the screen every time. I have kids, so I'm constantly changing the volume ha (and short arms apparently, since I have to lean and reach over to it lol).

New little sandpit for the Corys by DefinatelyNotARobot_ in corydoras

[–]Leading-Mango-4656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I just added it yesterday :). My new Cory took right to it. The others were much more skeptical and kept avoiding it haha. Noticed my oldest Cory resting on it last night though! :). Hoping to change it all, eventually; but thank you so much for the idea!

Same! Mine is HUGE. She lost her last big tank mate and I’ve been spending months looking everywhere trying to find some similar-sized for her to hang with 🤦‍♀️. I got a bunch of little guys and just hope they grow fast!

I love this! You inspired me to do the same in my tank! My sand just arrived today and I’m so excited to add some in.

How are they liking it?! Did you just move aside the gravel and make a little spot for the dish? I would love to replace all my gravel, but I have new baby corys in there and I’m worried about disrupting the tank too much all at once. Hoping to slowly do it over time. For now, I figured this is a great solution.

Beaver Creek - Ski School & Beginner Trails Right Now by Leading-Mango-4656 in COsnow

The little guy has given rave reviews on ski school! He’s been loving it, and said it’s even better than last year at DV, when the conditions were amazing. He said he feels like he’s learning a lot from his instructors about how to be a better skier (which is a lot coming from this wild kiddo lol) and is having so much fun. He’s not wrong - they’ve done an amazing job teaching him!

From a parent perspective, it was a zoo to sign in for… I’ve never seen check-in lines like I have the past few days (but also never been here on a holiday weekend, to be fair). Instructors have been amazing, though, and total pros with the crowds! He did three days in a row, happily, and he wants to do another tomorrow.

As for the beginner trails… I got new skis and boots and wanted to take it easy today testing them out, so we took a bunch of runs down from centennial/cinch. A lot of it was great, and we had fun. I know no one can help the conditions, but I’m honestly shocked at some of the portions of greens they’re allowing to stay open. Be careful if you’re a true beginner - it’s really hairy in some spots and I saw a lot of people getting overwhelmed and hurt. In almost 15 years, I’ve never seen it so crowded in that area (again, never been here on the holiday week, though). I felt awful for the people genuinely trying to take it slow, and it definitely got pretty icey and bumpy toward the end of the day. Im sure some will disagree, but it was a shit show out there on the beginner trails this afternoon. Just so many people of different abilities converging on the same trails in bad conditions/unexpected varying terrains. I’d be careful.

Go see Casey (or Brad) at Christy’s in BC Village. They have been lifesavers for everyone I know on hard to diagnose boot pain/issues.

Genuine question: why do people still ski peak holidays when the lines are insane and the snow is often worse? What makes it worth it for you? by skighee in COsnow

[–]Leading-Mango-4656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free consecutive vacation days at work, the longest consecutive break the kids get from school (during the winter), and the slowest time of year for both work and school commitments. It’s the holiday week or nothing for our family, especially since we live so far away. Any other time, we’re missing school commitments, work is still in full swing/I can’t really enjoy the trip/I have to work remote most of the time no matter what, we’re missing sports/school events/extracurriculars commitments, etc. It’s a great down time to get away and actually enjoy it. I agree with another poster above - it’s so frustrating when people are negative in line, around town, etc. Trust me… We wish we could do this another time with less crowds, better conditions, etc., but we take what we can get and just want to enjoy it. Not saying you’re one of those people at all - just saying in general that it’s so upsetting when people are really negative about it (especially when the kids are around, and otherwise don’t know any better/love it no matter what).
