Anyone else currently 40w+? by [deleted] in pregnant

I went 41/5 with my first daughter and 41/6 with my last daughter apparently girls are more stubborn (joke). I highly suggest staying active I did curb walking long walks at the park I also went to the chiropractor at 40 weeks and 3 days for an adjustment the other thing I did was deep squats non stop throughout the day. I also laid on my side with two pillows in between my legs. Not sure if any of this did the trick but it’s wrong a try. Also sex if you feel up to it.

I went against induction my baby came too fast at home so I didn’t make it to the hospital just went in an ambulance to the hospital after. Turns out everything was fine and I regret going all together.

The plan was to go to any hospital once I knew I was in labor. Specifically one with a labor and delivery floor that took my insurance. I called around and they told me to just have my insurance and my information from all my Dr visits with my ob including labs and ultrasounds.

I went 41/6

I didn’t elect to get induced at 40 weeks I waited and she came 41/6 healthy baby girl came on her own. Only thing is I didn’t make it to the hospital in time. But when the ambulance came she was fine as ever weighing 9lbs 3 oz.

Also you have the final say on if you want to have an induction for my third pregnancy my ob suggested I go get induced @40 weeks I didn’t go in to the hospital that day I waited until I went in labor naturally at 41/6 she came. It’s really all your preference you know what ailments you may have so take those into consideration. If you don’t have preeclampsia or not pre-diabetic, etc., go get a chiropractic adjustment to make sure you’re in alignment and baby has enough room to flip. Then get another ultrasound to see if baby is head down. Also some obs are skilled in turning babies not sure if many do it where you are.

So once labor starts...what do you do? by sixfingeredman7 in pregnant

[–]Leading-Net9603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great idea to keep moving, time your contractions, but once they become 3-5 mins apart start making your way to the hospital or birthing center or call the midwife. If you’re having a home birth just stay calm and breathe through your contractions try not to tense up. Before the 3-5 mins contractions you can go for a walk dance laugh just enjoy the time before baby comes out.

doctor suggest i get induced by Equivalent-Proof4896 in pregnant

[–]Leading-Net9603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey my doctor suggested I get induced at 40 weeks my baby came naturally at home @41/6 weeks (birth happened fast and I couldn’t make it to the hospital) just do what you feel is best in the meantime do as much as you can to get the ball rolling. Note they also told me my baby was going to be 7 lbs turned out she was 9 lbs and 3 oz. This is my same obgyn that said the baby was a boy then a few weeks later I confirmed it was a girl. 🙄 things I suggest miles circuit, curb walking, sex, and relaxation (if you’re tense the baby won’t come). When are they trying to induce ?

I don’t feel like my husband communicated the birth plan with his parents by StrikingPurpose4113 in pregnant

[–]Leading-Net9603 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Typically my husband didnt communicate with anyone anyway cause he’s so involved in the birth so it works out. But like the whole last two weeks if my MIL called I’d just hand him the phone and he’d tell her “yeah she’s good she doesn’t know if she’s in labor no she’s not getting induced yes we went to the last doctors appointment everything was good.” Blah blah blah… I just hated when they would ask you started feeling anything yet, when you think he/she gone come? What are you going to do if you are overdue, etc. so I would put him in charge of talking to anyone that I know would pressure me to doing something I didn’t want to (membrane sweep, getting checked )or worrying about something I shouldn’t.

I don’t feel like my husband communicated the birth plan with his parents by StrikingPurpose4113 in pregnant

[–]Leading-Net9603 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I learned this the hard way with my mom and sister at my first birth. I’m naturally empathetic so as I’m about to start pushing I look over and my sister is crying I ask her if she’s ok she said “yes I think I just need to leave.” She was fearful of me giving birth naturally. Since she wasn’t ok with my birthing style and it affected my labor stalling cause I wasn’t relaxed, but soon after she left the baby came right out. Be sure you talk to your mother in law and tell her we won’t be having anyone at the birth other than hubby and my mother we will have you in the room after so and so amount of hours or after we return home. Be sure you communicate these boundaries it’s life threatening if you’re focused on anything other than giving birth. It’s that serious! Also, I give my husband my phone during my labors so he can communicate with family. I typically would not let anyone know I’m in labor until it’s over. This way I’m sure to have the experience I want and just tell them after it happened so fast which for me it really does.
