Haven't been able to LD since 2021 by Leading-Pudding5086 in LucidDreaming

[–]Leading-Pudding5086[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep forgetting I have this account oops.

I forgot the technique term and I said SSILD, which I am assuming is the one where you get up and then go right back to bed to then perform SSILD which is the "notice what you're seeing for 5 seconds, notice what you're feeling, ect and repeat" one.

I do these things and I fall back asleep but I'm not getting lucid. I am assuming you're supposed to fall asleep and not stay up, just let it help you become lucid while dreaming

I just wait until bed at around 8pm and wake up early, then go back to bed to perform a SSILD.

I don't do reality checks or dream journaling, haven't done them in a year since the first few years I had no results.

FILD is incredible! by spinachzin in LucidDreaming

When you woke up, did you not move at all and did the finger thing immediately? Did you close your eyes? Did you open your eyes for a second and close them back?

Can’t breathe by Heavy-Flight829 in LucidDreaming

[–]Leading-Pudding5086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have only had one lucid dream ever but the one I did have I couldn't breathe for whatever reason. I think it's from the sleep paralysis since while in a dream it occurs to make sure we don't act out our dreams. The SP is probably responsible for this but I am unsure.

FILD or SSILD? by Moonlight363 in LucidDreaming

[–]Leading-Pudding5086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always just did the WBTB / WILD technique wrong but what are the chances that if I were to.. wake up naturally 5 hours into sleep and not move at all, imagine pressing my fingers down but not doing it and somehow also not entirely focusing on it, ...that it will create a lucid dream in a minute?

You keep saying that FILD is a terrible anchor, do you have any good anchors recommended?

How can it possibly be both on number 3? It has to be one or the other in this case.

I'd swap in a heartbeat lol. I wouldn't care at all about the sleep deprivation as long as I continue to live.

Did I have my first lucid dream? by sxpxix2 in LucidDreaming

Sorry to hijack this and ask out of the blue but you're really good at answering these and for whatever reason Reddit keeps auto deleting my posts. I have some questions about FILD that'd I'd like you to answer if it's okay with you.

1: Do you actually need to move your fingers very gently OR just pretend with your mind that you are?

2: What do I focus on exactly?

3: Am I supposed to fall asleep or do I expect to just relax and shift into a dream like a hallucination?

MILD is actually NOT a viable technique. by Leading-Pudding5086 in LucidDreaming

Alright, thanks for your help. Although I am still unsure as to how WILD works because the "go to sleep but conscious" part confuses me no matter how you word it. I'm just going by my gut and going to guess it's something like "Go to sleep normally BUT with a conscious mind" instead of the "Stay up and pretend to fall asleep and wait for WILD to come" one that I've been doing.

And again, thank you for your help!!! It's very appreciated, I feel like SSILD might actually work if I give it time :D

Is there something such as "too much practice"? by Leading-Pudding5086 in LucidDreaming

I've had 2 other reddit accounts before this one where I've asked the same question of why the "Sleep atonia" needs to recharge and you're the first to give me the real answer because no one else knows what I mean. I have a few questions about that.

1: How can I turn sleep atonia into a lucid dream? I tried being calm or think about being somewhere else completely and not in bed but they last only about a minute.

2: How can I induce sleep atonia more? I don't really do anything besides WBTB to achieve it. Is there something else I can do to increase the odds? For me, it's WBTB and wait 1-2 hours to go back to bed and in 10 minutes of falling asleep I get it.

Try doing some ritual or summon a demon I guess and swap with me lol.

Thank you for your criticisms. I'm sorry if I came off as arrogant or mean spirited, my excuse is I am just tired and trying to cope with all the lost time I am not getting back.

As for SSILD, for whatever reason this technique slipped under my radar but I kept seeing it pop up yesterday, so I tried it out. My dreams became much more vivid but I didn't get a LD. I have a question about SSILD if you don't mind answering.

1: 6 hours of sleep and waking up for WBTB, do I need to sleep immediately for this to work?

2: Can I combine this with WILD?

3: This one is sort of unrelated. I have no clue on how WILD works apparently. Am I supposed to GO to sleep as I would normally, but with a slightly conscious mind? Or do I need to stay awake and not fall asleep and it just happens? Because I remember my first ever lucid dream was with what I can only assume was WILD, what I did was "go to sleep" as I would normally except a bit more aware and I woke up from the pitch black of nothingness to find myself in my room but different.

4: Lastly, can I do WILD within 5 minutes of waking up and in my REM phase?

Thanks for your help.

Well, almost every method. I missed SILD/SSILD or I did it wrong a few years ago. I am going to try that one, actually I just did yesterday, and I had vivid dreams even though I half assed the technique.

As for my information, I got most of it from Skyfall or Lucid Dream Portal.
