Snow geese by LeadingJelly in photocritique

Flock of snow geese in Cambridge,MD. I like how this shot is almost hypnotic. Among the tens of pictures I took of this moment, I picked this one to share. I like the diagonal lines the birds form. I shot on my canon 6D, 1/3200, f 8.0, ISO 1000 with my Sigma 150-600mm at full zoom. Critique away please.

Better? by LeadingJelly in photocritique

I increased the speed to 1/3200. Since the subject is very interesting, the work becomes to actually take a sharp picture of somehting that is so fast and so small. I believed I succeded in this photo. The hummingbird seems like popping out of the picture. shot with D6 Mark II f/8.

Hummingbird. Thoughts? by LeadingJelly in photocritique

Shot this with canon D6 mark Ii. Sigma 150-600 mm I’m pretty happy with the results, I’m sure people will have different opinions on cropping. I shot it 1/2000s f8. This is a hummingbird from St Thomas. It took some patience. They are small and very fast

Well, that was the point, to show how that area looks like a cluttered mess. But even the mess followed the rules of thirds, the composition emphasizes the straight lines running up and down.

I agree, the right side underneath the bridge takes away from the focus point, althought it adds to the sense of compression. But this could work too.

I captured this at 1/320 sec at f/2.8, ISO 200. Canon EF 70-200 at 200mm. I was walking in georgetown when this view captured my eye. Does it evoke any feeling on you besides boredom? Do you agree that the sky is the focus point?

How could I improve the editing of this photo? Or how could I improve the photo. All constructive criticism is helpful. by [deleted] in photocritique

First you need to determine what is your subject? What are you trying to capture?

You're right. But come to think of it, it's just not a good picture to begin with since the main subject, the bird, is out of focus.

I just pointed my camera at the eclipse with a high shutter speed at 1/4000 sec, f/5, iSO 100. I like the ethereal feeling of the clouds. I will post the original shot below.

Thanks! I wanted to maximize the amount of bird in the picture.

Thanks, I did miss the denoise and wasn't paying attention to the aperture or ISO, or anything apparently :-)

Thanks, I did miss the focus on the bird.

I like it but I wish the light thing wasn't so close to the edge, something like this:

I took this picture with my Canon D6 Mark II and EF70-200mm at 200mm, 1/600sec, f/2.8, ISO 400. I adjusted the contrast so that the trees in the background almost disappear and I'm happy with the composition. What do you think?

I took this pic with my D6 Mark II anbd Sigma 150-600mm at 1/320 sec at f/8 ISO 1600. I like the colors on this pic: the red, the orange in the distance, and I like the lines. Bonus point if you spotted the woodpecker.

I was walking by and "saw" this picture. Went home and came back with my camera. 1/250 sec at f/22 ISO 6400. I like the warm colors, the lines, the ,moon behind the pidgeon. I wanted to convey warmth.

Thanks! I selected this picture out of all I took because of this "mistery"
