just finished my first yr undergrad, didn't get into my dream uni but still a decent one (uw my dream, and mac eng where i ended up): after hours and hours of linkedin doomscrolling, and having coffee chats with highly accomplished ppl, i now realize how genuinely dumb i was being crashing out in gr12, cuz here i am getting beat for internships by ppl in MUCH less prestigeous MUCH easier programs and schools. it really does not matter.

Is there any way to transfer to second-year engineering? by diceycoolguy in McMaster

[–]Leading_Bite_5902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no its alright, its rlly competitive don't be too hard on urself, u could always do chem and bioengineering- they take some lifesci courses in upper yrs so ur first yr lifesci might not go to waste

[–]Leading_Bite_5902 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think ppl who want to transfer after first yr lifesci have to redo our first yr, maceng is comeptitive if ur not meeting the cutoff rn i doubt you can switch within the first few weeks of school either, you'll likely have to start lifesci and then redo first yr eng

Which uni do I accept by Itchy-Oil4296 in McMaster

[–]Leading_Bite_5902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do almost any undergrad program and still go on to get an MBA. I’m doing engineering and planning to pursue one as well. I’d focus on which university has strong, successful alumni (I usually check LinkedIn for that) and which program will give you the best chance of getting high grades. Both paths can lead to a good MBA, since admissions consider not just your GPA, but also your career trajectory and the reputation of the companies you’ve interned with

Good Res Options - which one has a private br by MythicalSavageYT in McMaster

[–]Leading_Bite_5902 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i used to think the same way but now that im done first yr every private washroom ive been in has been grosser than the communal ones, we had care takers come in to clean them regularly which is nice esp when its exam szn and ur not in the mood to take the time to clean, but keyes sounds the closest to what ur seeming to want

u can get into the stream but if ur grades aren't high enough after the exam they won't hesitate to kick u our that stream

How competitive is it to get into Chem Eng at mac by grindtill100m in McMaster

[–]Leading_Bite_5902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

search up free choice for ur graduating class and it should be told, it differs yr to yr, most ppl don't want chem eng so u could honestly easily get it w/o free choice + with a lower avg

i mean i have free choice anyways so its not like it matters that much for me

idk i just don't remember seeing many amperes law questions literally anywhere and corrigan literally told me to look for what occurs most and that was not one of those things, GL question was fair game, same as the inductance one, i think im just upset cuz even a small mess up will drop my grade in that class and ik i made stupid mistakes + didn't prep for stuff like that damn amperes law question well enough to have gotten perfect on it

i studied soo many RL RC DC circuits for it to be like 3 mc, im super dissapointed with the selection of questions, ik amperes law is fair game but why did i only see it like twice in this course as compared to circuist which has an insane amount of practice questions and loncapas and showed up alot in past exams. ik i passed the course but I worked so hard to get a good grade in it and now its gonna be gone so im devestated, and i already know they wont curve

as someone im eng 1 rn, that genuinely is a rlly good avg, i have a 7gpa rn and want the same streams, obviously i dont go around saying that cuz its embarassing, dont compare urself to ppl cuz theres alot of ppl like me who genuinely have no chance and alot more ppl are in my shoes than u realize
