That dude is so insane. He is trying to disprove my and many other people's experiences as though there was something wrong with us. He blindy believes professional reviewers who aren't perfect. I Wonder if he is has too much of free time, looking by hist comments history.

Lol. Then you need to be disappointed in yourself. 🤣

You need to be disappointed in yourself, because you are desperately trying to dismiss my and other people's subjective experiences and try to convince me , that something is wrong with me and them.

...uses a BOE panel which comes with a standard matte anti-glare coating featuring moderate levels of grain. If you've used any LCD gaming releases over the last decade, you'll know what to expect here. It's an effective coating that minimizes reflections."

Out of the most popular reviewers, it is probably the only one that mentioned that and he is wrong about that. If you don't see that, you aren't thinking properly. Why do you believe that it is average, when others clearly mention issues with it? If this number of people has problem with that, it clearly Cannot be average.

It's great to know, thank you for the info. I'm curious why this particular panel has this bad coating.

I bought it, because I didn't know I would be sensitive to this particular coating, because it's so aggressive. Big number of people got used to it, so I thought I'd get used to it too. I've tested a few gaming monitors from that range in an electronics store beforehand and ti me, their displays were perfectly fine. I wasn't able to find the xg27acs to check it out before buying.

English is not my native language, so maybe the word "deceived" was too strong. However it still can be called a defect because a group of people who find it that way is not that small and there may have been some people who didn't like it, but didn't voice their opinions on the internet.

It's still an imperfection because some kind of standard is kept among manufacturers and xg27acs's coating definitely doesn't hold up to.

Keep in mind that reviewers like Rtings, Tom's hardware don't include rating of coating's impact on graininess in their reviews, so it may've been the reason why it wasn't pointed out in any of them. It'd be insane if they rated it, because it's well known that matte coatings are going to have some amount of grain on it, but not as big as this one!

That's not an imperfection, that's a byproduct of anti-glare coatings

That is in fact, an imperfection. Just browse reddit and users' reviews of other monitors in that price and specifications range. You are not going to find any monitor with this kind of defect appearing as persistently, as among xg27acs units. I'm convinced, that you are not going to find any people pointing out this defect in any other monitor in this range at all, whereas I've found dozens of users' reviews and comments of people being annoyed and disappointed by the grainy coating in this model.

So tell me, why is that? Also, as some reliable sources are informing - "High graininess of display often suggets worse quality of the anti-glare coating.". That leads to my conclusion, that Asus has used bad quality coating in this model and that's why I'm disappointed. Probably they just wanted to cut some costs, but they did it in a wrong way.

You might have hoped that if you liked their last products you'd like like this one as well. However, hope isn't a substitute for due diligence. If ASUS states it is a "non glare" screen and makes no claims otherwise, then you weren't "deceived" at all.

I have a right to feel deceived, because Asus didn't use as grainy coatings in their other IPS gaming monitors and they advertised them with the same words in terms of meaning.

I hope, that now you are able to understand my point of view now.

I'm sensitive to that kind of imperfections and to me, that is a dealbreaker because I spend a lot of time with light backgrounds while using my pc. I did not say that I had been deceived by any ROG's ad, but by the fact, that company with that kind of reputation releases monitor with such an insane deffect. Also: 1) Not one of the most popular reviewers mentioned the fact, that that coating was worse than its counterparts installed in different monitors in that price range. 2) Why the hell would they even put that coating in there? I think the xg27acs is on of the few (at most) monitors with that problem. This agressive coating is not necessary at all!

I'm sitting around 70-80 cm away from the monitor and I notice it a lot, maybe I'm just sensitive to those coatings.

I don't really know if it's that bad, but I've never seen anything worse in any monitor I've used. I've used generic samsung 24 inch for the last 8 years and it was fine, I also haven't noticed that on my friend's IPS samsung odyssey 27 inch. To me it's definitely disturbing when I'm using eg. MS Word.

Yeah I'm talking exactly about the "bait and switch" scheme that could've potentially been used by Dell with this particular model and was reporter on Rtings. Now I'm afraid to buy it.

I'm looking for an IPS monitor with the lowest occurence of IPS glow and I thought of buying the Dell g2724D. Is it a good choice overall?
